Apple needs a “Visionary” person in its leadership position one who has a passion for technology & also has a backbone like Steve Jobs and is not afraid of saying No and calling people out. Steve Jobs in my opinion would of never released the current iPhone 13 Pro. It would of been much much better. Tim Cook is a logistic & a numbers guy. Not a leader that should be charged and not one that others inspire to be & look up to.

The reality is that the advancement in innovation of new phone tech is slowing down. Similar to what has happened with computers the past decade.
Tell that to the people folding and flipping their Samsung phones (as well as writing notes with a digital pen).

The issue isn't the slowing of innovation, it's the stagnation of Apple's products. The new iPhones aren't discernably different from the model before it. More importantly, they fail to even integrate innovations that have been around for years now: under-display (or even power button) fingerprint sensors, always-on displays (a software feature!), lack of a huge notch etc.

And while we're talking about the notch...that symbolises Apple's stagnation more than anything. That abomination has now been there for 4 years and 6 iPhone iterations (X, XS, XR, 11, 12, 13). This year, they've slightly shortened the width while making it taller - and adding nothing to the notification area. Jobs must be spinning.

Lol. You wouldn’t know the first thing of what it’s like to run a trillion $ company. But hey easy to just groan by your self which no one would care. Apple will do what ever they want no matter what your stupid opinion is

You know Jobs’ last iPhone was the 5? Cook has overseen the development of more iPhones than his predecessor.

Under Tim Cook, we’ve seen 3 big redesigns, 9 flagship lines, the maturity of the App Store, and the development of the best ecosystem in tech history. I don’t think Cook is struggling to inspire or lead. He’s also, from what I can tell, created a diverse work force (and is putting them front and centre in keynotes).

Let’s not hyperbole and diminish what he’s achieved. I don’t think the CEO of any company, let alone APPLE, is afraid of saying no to any person, full stop. The job of the CEO is to lead, inspire, and enable. He’s very clearly doing those things all the whole leading Apple to record breaking valuations.

I think Apple is doing the right thing.

Apple looks at innovation as something that improves customers’ lives, and they tend to be more focused on features and upgrades they believe will lead to better experience, rather than simply announce a lot of new features or upgrades just for the sake of being first or different.

The galaxy fold is perhaps the best example of a product designed to nab headlines in tech blogs, but which isn’t selling.

This will be another solid quarter for Apple with the iphone 13 selling like hotcakes.

One of the most successful companies in the world makes boring products with small, incremental improvements every year. They have a reputation for quality, service and the idea that it just works. There are many customers that want new and better but most people just want something that works, is easy to figure out, has great QC and doesn't break.

Even doe your being judgmental signs of your lower self. Tim is not running anything half the time as was stated he doesn’t know what’s going on within the product & design teams. The teams be fighting from within. It’s a mess. Tim has no interest in step by step product design. He’s a #’s guy. Selling & product design is not his thing. Steve Jobs was excited & could sell you a charger cord . Tim just is not. Steve also said many years ago that once you put money hungry people in charge of a company that’s when everything goes down hill.

I’m not going for that. Samsung keeps on innovating. With its foldables alone. Including it’s under display cameras etc. Think Big. Think outside the box & never limit yourself.

For billions of people around the world Apple is seen as 'prestige', meaning if you happen to own a piece of Apple modern equipment you are seen as somebody who is worth knowing. People need to remember that outside of the US and Europe where Apple products are very common place, Apple products are a status symbol, a highly prized item if one happens to own an Apple product.

As long as the 'prestige','status' and 'highly prized' tags exist, Apple products will always be indemand, regardless of how much lacking they are in inovasion and upto date hardware.

I used to work for a development manager and his manager was going to retire. My manager and another manager were competing for the job. Both were competent and managed large teams but both were competitive and territorial. He put the finance guy in charge of the teams. This guy was a CPA and had an accounting background. He did a great job over a period of thirty years. You don't have to be a product specialist, marketing guy, engineer, math major, etc. to manage an organization or a company well.

Tim Cook won't be going anywhere until he literally decides to retire or becomes bored with the job. I agree, the iPhone 12 Pro's should have had the features released on the iPhone 13's of this year - the 12 Pros were very lacklustre and were not worth the extra money, and I feel like that is why Apple decided this year to differentiate them further and really give consumers a reason to shell out the extra money.

Having said that, Apple is smart and knows they cannot release revolutionary new designs every year or else they will run out of reasons for users to upgrade. They will incrementally release new iPhone versions with features that users have wanted for years, and based on their roadmap they will intentionally keep certain features in their backlog, artificially making reasons to upgrade to the next version. It's textbook Product Management 101.

QC has been going downhill. iPad airs iPads and even phones that bend. And when I took my iPad Air 4th Gen back that was a headache. UnderTim Cook when I product has a issues Apple waits month until they get lawsuits and millions of complaints to take action

I view an iPhone as a tool to make my life efficient. They are easy to buy and maintain and it's easy to get a replacement, accessories, and there's a ton of software out for the devices. So it's basically an appliance for me. My main uses are email, notes, reminders, working out, calendar, text messages, weather, and as a phone. All mundane stuff that lots of products would suffice for. But I've had other brands and they weren't supported for more than a year or two or the software was crap or there wasn't something to upgrade to. And it's just easier to get an iPhone and not think about the phone - just use it.

The 3GS brought video recording to the iPhone for the first time. Which for me was a major upgrade

With a crappy 3 MP camera and a plastic casing. SJ was a super salesman that’s for sure. The reality distortion field is still intact for him.
TC has been his right hand and then took over leadership entirely after his passing so in one position or another he’s a pillar to Apple’s success for more than two decades.

I have not had any QC problems with Apple Products. I have iPhones, iPads, iPods, Mac minis, MacBook Airs and currently seven MacBook Pros. I probably take much better care of my electronic devices than most people. I'm also careful to research products before buying them.

Why would you put an iPad into a situation where there is the possibility of it bending?

If you don't like Apple products, don't buy them.

My IPad Air (cellular) brand new for my kids out of the boxes had issues. The product was bent from the plastic antenna line.
