I'm tired of all the Apple love.

I honestly have no understanding of how people make these relationships with silicone and metal. They're not works of art.

I dunno. I can imagine silicone inspiring an awful lot of relationships. :)

Then we wouldnt be here discussing it.

That has nothing to do with it, there are fora with ppl discussing microsoft, android, products and in the end they're also just that, products.

The fact that apple sometimes takes more care in delivering a better product and experience doesn't mean it's more than just a product.

I dunno. I can imagine silicone inspiring an awful lot of relationships. :)

Indeed. :D

Yea, it's annoying to see on website, but every group has to deal with this. Apple has fanboys which are just as bothersome.

One thing I do like about the Apple Community on places like Reddit, they don't spend all their time mocking other devices and company, they actually focus on Apple's products. (The Android subreddit is full of anti-Apple post, its fine to compare iOS and Android, but at a certain point, focus on Android's positives, it's a fine OS!)

I'm tired of so many people hating on apple. I'm talking about my friends on general, so I don't know if you guys can relate. They're all the type of people who want control over everything and that's one of the reasons why they dislike apple or always complain to me about it since I'm the one guy in the group who really loves apple. I still find it funny how they own iPods or iPhones though. I gave one of them my 4th gen iPod touch when I got my iPhone 4s and he complains so much about it even though he said thanks for it. And then the other guys jumped on the iPhone bandwagon but now he talks about how he can't wait to move over to android. Sometimes I think they complain just to get on my nerves but I really hope they all buy their windows stuff and android phones so they will shut up!

Sorry for that rant, I needed to get it out of my system.

It's always funny how hypocritical apple defenders are. They attack others for being "haters" yet you read their words and they're just as bitter and angry as the people they're criticizing.

Jerks exist on both sides of this fence so the best thing for anyone to do is just enjoy their lawn and quit worrying about what your neighbor is up to.

People need to feel justified in their decisions. It even works the same way comparing Apples to Apples. You can find people arguing whether a MacBook Pro is better than a Mac Pro and so on.

I think it's wonderful that people have so few problems and so little to worry about in this world that they argue over what is "the best."

It's hard to enjoy my lawn when my neighbor is constantly digging holes in it. Maybe I should just move.. that meaning that maybe there's a bigger problem here with the friendships in place. I rarely talk down to them or anyone about the technology they use. I have my preference and that's all it is, my preference. But I think it's stupid to buy a product and then do nothing but complain about that product as if you didn't have a choice to get the thing you actually like.

I can say the same for Android defenders. I was reading an article on Yahoo! News about how Tim Cook was going to get $378 million in stock options. Whenever an Apple article makes front page news on Yahoo!, the forum is filled with people who criticize Apple for not having their products made in the USA. One user cited Apple's refusal to have their products made in the USA as one of the reasons that he was going to move to Android.

It is funny how hypocritical Android defenders are. They bash Apple for not having their products made in the USA. Yet, at least Apple's products are designed in the USA. Some of the best Android phones on the market are made by foreign companies and there isn't even a murmur about that.

I never had any issues with the 2 Dell Inspirons I owned, so I can't really comment on their after-sales service. However, I had an issue with my MBA's display and my MacBook's fan assembly and frankly, I hate going to the genius bar. It's always crowded, it's always a mess, and your appointment time is never respected (always have to wait 30 minutes+).

Also, you have to leave your computer there for 2-3 days, so frankly, not much different than "drop-off at depot" service you get from Dell.

My next laptop will probably be another MacBook, maybe an 11" air this time. However, I'm not fooled into believing the service and quality are somehow superior. Apple has good service, on par with the competition if you ask me.

That is funny I haven't? Granted I have only used them a hand full of times. Of course it is no different then waiting on hold with Dell or HP which I have also done. However I can say I liked dealing with Apple bar more as I wasn't transfered around nor was I told it was manufacture "A" fault please call them. Even after I bought the item from either Dell or HP. But then again your YMMV.

I'm a huge fan of apple and while I can certainly criticize them about things it annoys the living heck out of me when I see people on this site who think we should just be robots and show no emotional attachment to objects that we enjoy.

I am the only one out of my friends who does not hardcore game, and who is a Mac user. My PC fanboy friend always annoys the living crap out of me about owning a mac. My other friend who sadly is too poor for a mac is perfectly fine with his 300 dollar acer he got from wal-mart. Another one of my friends I don't talk to very often also hates macs with a fiery passion.

This is one thing that annoys me about apple. I have had the greatest 4 months of my computing life with my macbook air, and feel so sorry for my friend that he has to put up with a crappy Acer.

If there are 2 things I can about Apple. 1) The steortype that we are all tea drinking hipsters is false. 2) People spend more time hating on apple then loving their own products.

The only time I ever gripe about windows is reflecting back on the horrible experiences I had with it. I don't walk into a best buy and cringe at the pcs, they don't make me physically ill to my stomach like windows fanboys walking into an apple store.

Your friends are going to your apple product and physically altering/mangling/destroying them?

They obviously are not. What is going on is that your friends are trash talking just like any Sports/Movies/Car superfan does. So whether you are on Team Edward or Team Apple, hearing complaints and bad mouthing comes with the territory of being in love with something that doesn't love you back.

Clearly the problem isn't your friends so rather than "moving" the better solution would be to grow up and either ignore the people you don't agree with or enjoy the conflict that comes from obsessively being a fan of a particular "team".

Enjoy the HATE!

In the era before the second coming of Steve, during Apples dark times the hate/FUD was a real issue. Pre 1996(Amelio years) when we were all worried about the future of Apple I had a very had time trying to get people to see the benefits of buying a Mac. It was a real hard sell, windows was catching up and the price of the Mac didn't help.

However after Steve's return and the release of the iMac the future of Apple became more secure. I stopped worrying about the FUD and hate spreaders. I have learned to take a step back and let people learn for themselves. Apple is making great products if people want to buy a PC or an Android device let them.

If they can make their choice work, good for them. However just remember when they do have problems to smile and offer them advice when they are ready to make another purchase.

I think I moved beyond any strong feelings towards a manufacturer/product when I was what 17-ish? Back then I would defend the hell out of the Xbox and get upset when people told me it was junk :p

At the end of the day, it's just a matter of preference. Anti-Apple stuff doesn't bother me because I pity those who actually get all worked up about it. I just think "Jeez, it's just a computer, there are more important things out there to worry about no?".

A Mac suits my computing needs perfectly. So does an iPhone. Hell even the iPad fits in somehow. They are all simply tools I use to get on with my own life.

tl;dr: haters gonna hate. Why let it bother you?

I never really though I could love a brand untill I got deep with Apple.

I'm about 3/4 of the way through Jobs book and its amazing. His passion for perfection and Apples whole philosophy is just incredible.

They have made me appreciate other products not only by their usefulness but their design and their mission to push innovation. I'm now constantly looking at other companies products and not only to see what they do but how they do it.

My boss is anti Apple and he is just caved and got an iPad for meetings etc and he NOW understands the product now he's used it and not just looked at it.

If only I could convince him to get me an iMac / MacBook for work i'd be the happiest man on the planet.

So you're mad because your friends don't love Apple. It's just a company and believe it or not people dont care about companies as much as Apple fans do. you come off as a whiney little bitch... get over it , it's just a computer, your happiness shouldn't depend on peoples opinion of Apple. That's just wierd.

----------

Watch the documentary Macheads....it is SUPPOSED to be just a product, but if you look into it deeper, Apple products are more than just that, they come with the collective community of the people...just look at these here forums :)

Buying a computer to make you feel like you're part of a community is pathetic.

----------

Apple fans love to talk trash. They put down windows laptops and phones calling them junk and cheap. If only you guys understand how assinine you sound sometimes. If someone bought a car and it wasn't your favorite brand would you call it junk or cheap....
probably because you're spoiled Apple fans who cant admit something else is nice.
