If I hear solid information that Verizon is getting it, I won't buy the new version @ launch.

But I'm guessing, Apple will withold any Verizon announcement until after AT&T has their launch. The question is, can I hold out through the launch in hopes of a Verizon announcement?

Sometimes I just don't have any. I didn't during the release of the 3GS. I did when my 3GS was lost in a cab. (Reverted back to my 3G and didn't buy a replacement 3GS.)

Not to sound rude but its a little sad that people wait for a Verizon/Iphone announcement.

There is no proof to ever suggest that Verizon will ever get the iphone. And IMO if it was me i wouldn't setup myself up for a disapointment untill there was suffcient evidence pointing to an VZW iphone.

But do what you like..That's just my 0.2 cents.

It's been said ever since the first iPhone, yet people think, it will happen.

We don't have proof, but we have some evidence pointing to a strong possibility (more so than in the past). So I won't be waiting unless I hear some stronger evidence that a Verizon model will be coming before the end of the year.

That's so true. And VZW's arrogance will be the reason why. I remember hearing that there was an issue of VZW wanted to service their phones in the store. And apple wasn't going to allow this because they like to service their own products.

And think also the way verizon likes to add its how do you say "Imprint" on the phone. I can't see apple letting any carrier adding its name on to the phone physically. :D

What evidence? The only thing i saw what some puff piece written by some tech head claiming that there would be a VZW iphone. And that's the same thing they said last year and the year before. The whole launch of the Ipad on AT&t mobility's network or any network that supports a microsim shows that they are still sticking with AT&T.

And also Apple has a pattern of launches. If they were going to launch the iphone on VZW it would be in june. Not any other time of the year.

Yup and i read those. And the same was said last year as well. And still it bore no fruit. But then again keep waiting. After all look at the SETI project..They waited too and we all know what the end result was for that one.

You don't read to well do you? Like I said before, I won't be waiting until I have more substantial proof.

The purpose of those posts is to say that we have more reason that we did last year at this time to think there might be a Verizon iPhone in the somewhat near future. They were not posted to imply that I would be waiting for an Verizon iPhone...just yet.

Excuse me. I do read very well however anyone can say they are getting the iphone and if you think thats news then so be it. But i don't. Speculation isnt news to me. Show me an official press release then im won over. I'm sorry i was raised not be believe "Everything" that i read only offical proof.

I never presented them as proof. I presented it as anectodtal evidence.

If you did read well, you wouldn't have implied that I was going to wait on a Verizon phone based on my posts.

IIRC, doesn't ATT's iPhone exclusivity end this summer? That's prime time to introduce a Verizon iPhone. I also believe Qualcomm has been working on a dual GSM/CDMA chip, which would make a single iPhone capable of being on ATT or Verizon much easier.

Also, ATT and Verizon are both switching to the LTE "4G" technology in the future, which completely removes the need to make two different phones. It's literally not if, but when, Verizon gets the iPhone. I'm not saying it's going to be this year, but Apple is a business and it's a very good business decision in the long run to get the iPhone to as many people as possible. And with multiple carriers switching to the same wireless technology (and so many people complaining about ATT these days), it's just a bad decision to keep with one carrier. Verizon wanted things in the past that Apple wasn't willing to give them. But Verizon is the one that's going to benefit more from having the iPhone, so I think they'll cave and give Apple what they want.
