Does the titanium is space black come with the DLC coating on it? I currently have the stainless and it has never scratched. I ordered the titanium and don’t want to get scratches on it.

Yes it does. a major upsell for space black over the standard titanium for scratch resistance.

Yes. From the one on my cart.
I added Ti to my cart, and don't see a sport band included... where are you seeing this exactly?

*Edit* I looked using the Apple Store app, and "What's in the Box" includes the M/L dark gray sport band. However, on the website using a computer, it is not included in the list.

As an SBSS owner I’m genuinely curious as to your thoughts on this.

What leads you feel the SBTi is worth the extra $100?

I know for me it was the weight. It is very noticeable. Also I personally thought the SBSS scratched easily. In fact, I have hit my SBTi hard on a door knob several times and there is not even a nick on it. When I did the same with the SBSS it scuffed the finish.

in addition, you get an additional sports band with the watch so in turn the increased price is only $50 for the watch.

the extra $100 is well worth it in my book.

I’ll start by stating I have only purchased SS, SSSB, SBTi models. The SBTi has been rock solid for me and the weight, while minimal, is a huge plus. I honestly expected at least a few scratches but there’s nothing.

At one point, I hit it so hard I expected the screen to be shattered or a huge chunk of case missing. Nope. Just a long, silver line from a doorknob that wiped right off. The watch metal was harder than a truck stop bathroom doorknob. While the SS or SSSB would have also survived, it would have done some damage to the stainless steel that would likely not have been able to be polished. And this is coming from someone who polished the SS model somewhat regularly.

1. Stronger than SS or SSSB (in my experience
2. Weight is less than SS
3. Bonus - Editions include a second *band and now a USB charger, in the box.
*Sport Band.

Do you get the second band even if you "build your own" via the Apple Watch Studio feature? Or is it only on the preconfigured Titanium models?

No concrete evidence, but it’s listed under “What’s in the box?” on the product page. I don’t see Apple pulling it because you chose a custom band. I got a Sport Loop last year with my SBTi and it had the band, but the order wasn’t customized.

This is very interesting to read. Mark my word... Soon to come people will be complaining my Red/Blue Aluminum watch looks too cheap and plasticky.

Also, According to Appleinsider:

Simply put, titanium is in many ways the ideal material for Apple Watch.
We've truly been on the fence about which Apple Watch Series 5 to choose: the stainless steel or titanium. After spending some time with the titanium and coming from stainless steel, it is an easy decision — titanium all the way.

Titanium All The Way!!!

I got a custom band with my SBTi and it still comes with the extra band, it’s part of the package.

And don’t forget the inclusion of a power adapter, which now is a “premium” feature! Such an apple move.

I’ve bought the SS watch every time (original, series 2, series 3, series 4) and was planning on continuing that.

you guys just sold me on titanium though. Didn’t realize it even weighs less! Definitely looking forward to that. Though in fairness I’m tempted to wait for next year for a potential redesign.

Coming from a SSSB S4 I clearly wanted to keep SSSB. Ordered SS in silver them but decided today to go for the Titanium natural today.

Should be delivered by 9/25 here in Germany.

Mine is also preparing to ship, but it’s still listed as 25th-29th. My spare Solo Loop also went to preparing and says the 19th.

I imagine if its in preparing to ship, once it flips to shipping the dates will obviously change to the 18th. At least I hope that’s the case for you (and others).
