I plopped a Tron desktop and it took care of the problem without me even realizing it.

no need to hide it as what I use it for the apps or screen hides it anyway in a lot of use cases

I don't even notice the notch most of the time.

I installed Bartender when the new MacBook Pro came out to reduce how many icons are displayed, and that was that. I've rarely thought of it since.

The only thing that bothers me is the glossy screen.

My 2006 was anti-glare.
My 2010 was anti-glare.
My 2013 had a massive anti-glare screen protector added (I don't want to go through that again).

So my 2021 is the first glossy system I've had to use since back in the old CRT days. The reflections bother me, the way dust & dirt is so prominent bothers me, the way fingerprints stand out bothers me, etc. I keep a microfiber cloth near to wipe the display all the time now.

I generally like dark desktops anyways, so it's not especially noticeable, but I have one bright desktop that creates contrast and I dislike how the notch pops out. I might get used to it, but I'll probably have to change that specific desktop to something that doesn't irritate me. At least the notch doesn't eat into actually used content like the iPhone notch does.

At first I didn't mind it, but after a while it bothered me so I used Top Notch to hide it.

With the micro LED screen it's now perfectly hidden and is fine.

Are those the only options? It seems a good common answer is C: none of the above. Not to mention the concept of the word proud has been expanded and used enough to the point that a more specific concept might be more meaningful.

There's a NOTCH! Oh great now I can obsess over it and never start looking at it. It is just a part of the laptop and I don't even know it (until I am reading forums and see that I missed it)
