GPS locations lags true location

I had a similar lag with my TomTom 910 when placed in my center console. It also required a few seconds (30 seconds to a minute) to acquire a gps signal which prompted me to buy the external antenna. I just placed the antenna on the shelf behind the rear seat and the 910 now acquires a signal before I even get around to looking at it unless I'm in a parking deck.

Oh, and the lag went away as well. Even at 90 mph it shows me passing the on-off ramps when I actually pass them. I guessing the TomTom iPhone mount will help address the lag issue. Hopefully.

I did not expect this app to be less then 99.00. I used to have a blackberry storm and it was the same amount of money for gps software for that phone too.

Im not saying its ok, just that for blackberry users its 99 dollars for gps as well so its not like they are trying to take advantage of apple users.

I definatly think they need to lower the price. What else available for gps in the store needs to be factored in the price.

Personally I would never carry around a whole dedicated device just for GPS.

Personally I like the text-to-speech option which the iPhone app may never have. And for the exact same money! It's a no brainer.

I downloaded the TomTom app to try it out side by side with my standalone TomTom unit and I will definitely be purchasing it.

I find app starts, recalculates and predicts my arrival time a lot more accurate then the standalone model.

They have a trial version?
