Top 10 reasons for owning an iPhone:
1) Updates - iPhone owners get updates almost as soon as the new OS is released. Samsung has already abandoned its Galaxy S5 or Tab S2 (Lollipop)
2) Security - You can simply off notifications, location but you can't do that for all applications on Samsung devices.
3) GPU/Speed - The latest iPhone is just faster than any flagship devices. Just see any speed tests online, iPhone is always faster in fps or starting up. The entire software is made to run the apps and not the other way round.
4) Functions - I can't even use my Tab S2 for Samsung Pay because it is stuck at Lollipop!
5) Ecosystem - I can easily sync music/documents/files via airdrop, icloud, etc because all devices can be updated to the latest iOS. I can't even sync my password from S5 to S6 because Samsung did not update S5 so I don't get a similar cloud function on S5.
6) Bloatware
7) Service - Apple Care is just amazing. Any cracks in the phone, any dents, call AppleCare and no questions asked. I get them fixed. Samsung refuses to repair my cracked S7 screen (no fault of mine) bought in April
8) Store - Pop by the Genius Bar and get your bricked phone/apps solved.
9) Resale - Apple never drops/rarely drops iPhone prices. The resale value remains pretty high after one year of usage. Samsung drops its S5 price by S$200 three months after its launch.
10) Product Line - Apple has only 5 types and 3 sizes of iPhone in its store. Samsung has A-Z smartphones and I can't differentiate one from the other.

A Samsung user may brag on the Android functions but seriously iOS and Android are getting more and more similar - split view, screen, etc - but Android/Samsung users WILL NEVER get the above 10 advantages

Where are you seeing $200 off the cost of an S7? Can you provide a link to this please.

Sorry S5 i mean.

Take for instance the Samsung Galaxy S5. It was launched on 11 April 2014 in India for Rs 51,500, but by 21 April 2014, the price was slashed to Rs 48,990. Not a huge difference you may think. Come mid-June 2014 and the price for the Samsung Galaxy S5 (16GB variant)slipped further to Rs 36,000, at least on online retail stores.

I will agree that Samsung does drop the price of its phones more than Apple but keep in mind that if you want iOS you don't have any option other than an iPhone so Apple can keep the iPhone priced at whatever they want. Whereas if you want an Android phone you have such a huge selection so Samsung has to drop its prices to stay more competitive with other Android manufacturers.

I read the thread with interest. Only because Apple (IOS) is stale and I'm tired of it. Just not sold on Android......yet.

Not every user of Android has a Samsung.. And some of your points are wrong.

The Galaxy tab S2 has Marshmallow now........go check for your update.....so enjoy Samsung pay and there is no easier way to sync files than using an android device especially if you cater to the Google Ecosystem which syncs music photos mail throughout all of your devices, if you don't think so go back to learning the "Alphabet". Almost every feature that Samsung incorporated in touchwiz has been later on copied by apple, no one is here for you judging Samsung when it continues to inspire apple with real innovations.

Really? Never understand the point of these threads.
Threads like this are unique to Apple forums.

Apple Devotees are emotionally attached to their phones and are usually comprised of insecure users. Notice threads like "Show Off Your Watch" and others reveal how many attach their identity to public acceptance. To be seen with Apple products enhances their self image. What others think of Apple users is important to the faithful.

I'll like you up on a great, insightful post, but this is a load of hyperbole and generalizations, as this is not unique to any specific forum or device. While I'm sure some people might think like this(as people have all sorts of ways of thinking), saying this like it's a fact pertaining to just apple devices is just plain nonsense.

I use and enjoy Android and iPhone smartphones.

Participating in forums for both platforms, I'm sharing my experience, as most do when posting in a forum of public opinion.

We travel in very different circles as the people I know do not define themselves by their phones, which is why your original comment is not a general statement or fact.

I specifically confined it to "Apple Devotees" aka: Fan Boys, not mainstream Apple users.

Of the large number of iPhone users I know, none fall into the category of Devotees...

Yet all one has to do is participate in these forums, where Devotees are high profile. It's an observation.

Really? Unique? As in other forums don't have threads about why some other phone, or some TV, or some car, or some credit card, or something else is better? Or don't have threads showing off this or that? Come on now.

Seems like an observation would also be that anti-"devotees" are quite prevalent and vocal. Just like when it basically comes to anything else (especially online).

Point 3 is absolutely false. I have the S7 (exynos version) and it loaded every games faster than my 6S plus when I did a test 2 days ago. Angry birds 2, subway surfers, jet pack joyride... And I was honestly surprised. Samsung S7 exynos destroys any phones out there including the iPhone.

Well I can think of atleast four reasons to pick an S7 over the iPhone. Expandable storage, much better camera (especially in lowlight) water resistance, and a better display. And the Gear VR is just icing on the cake. Such a cool device.

Bottomline, both iPhone and Android devices (which btw is not limited to just Samsung) have their good and bad points

Wow, you must be new to the internet? Never been to a photography gear forum? Never been to a watch enthusiast site? LOL!

Nothing about this thread is 'unique' to Apple, or any other brand. Including the self-righteous replies from fanboys of the 'other' brands, like yourself.

I live in Singapore. I still do not get the updates on Tab S2 and S5 from my carrier. =(( How long does updates reach phones? 4-5 months? iPhones updates are available one week after official release!

6. So Apple doesn't come with bloatware? Really?
10. So you're telling me you can't differentiate between a Note series, a J series and an S series phone? Perhaps you should only be allowed phone with soft rubber edges.

It's a shame that the Snapdragon processor is used for the US version across all carriers which is slower, runs warmer, and has less battery life plus it has more bloatware than the Exynos chip.

The only saving grace is that Sansung pay works on the Snapdragon and not on the Exynos from what I read...is that right?
