Battery percentage icon!!!!I was hoping but didn’t hear any rumors and of course they didn’t include it, again! Apple what do we have to do to get the icon back?? Spend $1400, done that! That is probably one of the most looked for icons. #BringBackBatteryPercentageGate

1. No fast charging in box
2. No battery percentage(at least put it on Max)

Yeah, it's not on the default display. It's in control center though. if you swipe down from the top right corner, you can see it there.

I agree with you though.

Be grateful there's any battery indicator left at all. At the rate they're going with battery info being taken away from users (cycle count, voltage, wear level, charging current), it wouldn't surprise me at all if the battery icon disappeared one day also... to be replaced by Siri

I don’t really mind the loss of the percentage, but I do find the entire implementation of the display in the “horns” very odd. The signal and Wi-fi indicators switch sides when swiping down which I just think is a very bizarre design choice.

but if you have a 6.5 inch screen you think they can have it up there. sad

they call it, the ears. And hopefully if they figure out how to put the cam and sensores in the display like i have been reading, it wont be a problem and battery percentage will come back.....

Maybe Apple doesn't want you to notice the poor battery life but even cars with terrible fuel economy don't hide the fuel gauge.

bahaha

I’m in the opposite camp: I hate seeing the battery percent. To me, it doesn’t really matter. Just causes anxiety. And I wish I could hide the percent when low power mode is on. Needless to say, I’m looking forward to my XR so I don’t have to see the battery percent anymore.

You realize you can already disable it at the settings, right? ;)

Not when low power mode is on. It forces battery percent on as well. Which is what I specified in my original post.

i didn't know anyone used that, i guess i have never had the need for it....

Went to settings to turn the % indicator back on, nope.
Went to the internet to see why it's removed. See they did this on the X last year..
It is in control center with a simple swipe down.

meh, no big deal then.
But to some, OMG APPLE!!!!! WTF!!!!!!

I use it if I want to get a faster charge, or if I know I’ll be away from a charger for a long time. I don’t really notice the speed decrease so I don’t mind leaving it on occasionally.

Hell yes it’s a big deal, cause now on the Max it’s wayyyyy up there to swipe down. I hated it with the X, now it’s going to be worse! I looked at the percentage like 5-10 times a day.

Well it’s actually not bad with reachability. Didn’t know you could do that with reachability, So you can do it one handed.

Easiest way to see battery percentage is to add it up to the top of your notifications page that you swipe right to access from the main page.

Newtons Apple is spot on - for him/her it is 'not an issue' - so it should not be an issue for you. How dare you expect a basic function from the God of Apple if they deem it not necessary?

If a battery icon causes you anxiety, then trust me, the battery icon isn't your problem.

And how is that easier than having an icon that is always there on any screen/view?

And trust me - people on here have spent years supporting Apple and are frustrated with having basic functionality removed from their devices.
If someone suffers from anxiety, your lack of empathy and glibness, trust me, will not help them - or anybody - maybe not you one day. But go ahead - feel happy in adding nothing to a conversation, and keep on going ....
