Hello everyone I am torn what to do as I currently have a iPhone 7 Plus and I have to say it has been the worst iPhone yet, overheats on me then shuts off when I am doing my business Facebook live.
There has been antenna issues galore on this phone dropped calls static etc, all my previous iPhone's have never had these issues.
I pre ordered the new 8 Plus but returned it because I didn't notice a difference between the two devices and felt like I was honestly holding my 7 plus. I also have a new car with a charging pad and the wireless charging wouldn't work on it because the plus is to wide.
Long story short I want to try the Note8 I know its a completely different phone but also curious if I should give the X a shot before making this decision as I am worried I won't be able to notice a big difference since Apple doesn't make huge upgrades on their phones lately (my personal opinion).
I do have a MacBook and a iPad so everything syncs seamlessly and I love that and can also answer text messages on my iPad if I am live for my business.
Has anyone on here had the Note8 and went back to iPhone or the other way around?
What is your opinion for my dilemma I am so torn I guess I am a Apple fan by heart but getting bored of the same stuff but feel the X may be what I am looking for it looks totally different.
Hoping the X will fit on my wireless charging pad, does anyone have a template that I could cutout and try in my car I know this was done a few years ago when the Plus was first released.
Thanks so much for any help in making my decision :)

I think it comes strictly down to what do you want for an operating platform? Android or iOS. Also, ask yourself what do you want from this new iPhone X that the Note 8 has or vice versa. I think you need to factor what suits you better in terms of both devices.

Regardless, you could try the Note 8 for 14 days and then that should assist you to proceed to purchasing the iPhone X if it's in your interest.

I like the simplicity of Apple operating system and have played with the Note 8 of course not for the 14 days but I did like it but was VERY overwhelmed with it and was sad I couldn't input my iCloud emails on it easily etc.
[doublepost=1507762645][/doublepost]Does anyone know if you will be able to unlock the phone without doing the face ID to the unlock to the iPhone X?

Watch some Note 8 and S-Pen tutorials on YouTube to get a feel for the Note 8 to see if it might be for you. You can also read the "Alternatives" forum on Macrumors. I changed to the Note 8 from an iPhone 7 plus a few weeks ago and LOVE it, but I enjoy greater control over my phone experience. Samsung has done a great job on this phone. The S-Pen is an amazing tool that I use several times every day.

Yes you would be able to type in your pass code to unlock as well.

I'm sticking with the Note 8 for sure. I have used iPhones for 10 years, but finally got fed up with really the same old thing from Apple year after year. Samsung has introduced many powerful productivity innovations in the Note 8. Do not miss my iPhone at all. There was a learning curve for sure, but after a few hours I was Note 8 and Android literate. Living just fine outside the captive Apple ecosystem. Still finding cool things every day.

Is there anyway to have your pictures sync seamlessly like iCloud for my business to the Note 8?

I moved to Google Photos. Like it better than iCloud and Apple Photos overall. Syncs seamlessly across all devices (iOS, Windows, Android).

what about unlocking without any passcode?

Note 8 allows you to set up a Geofence for unlocking. If your phone is around your home or work, or around a connected Bluetooth device like a headset or watch, it will unlock without a passcode.

X....don’t let Apple bamboozle you by selling you the same design for a 4th year in a row... or if you could deal with Android definitely get a note 8. I tried the note 7 last year and while it was a great phone I couldn’t deal with the crappy mess that was Android

The note is pretty big too. Do you think it will fit on your cars wireless charging pad? My Toyota Tacoma has a wireless charging pad too, but they made it big enough for large phones.

[doublepost=1507773806][/doublepost]I know lots of members are biased here it's similar to walking into a Chevy dealership asking what truck they should buy Ford or Chevy lol.

Note 8 looks like nice hardware, but Android just isn't for me. I just spent about 3 Months with the S8+ and while the hardware was nice I just couldn't live with current android for my day to day use. I realize other people are perfectly happy with current android so YMMV.

What was it about Android that bothered you?

whenever I go to Bestbuy and when i see note 8 I don’t feel like touching it, its so huge and out of shape plus the garbage sensitive android. With Samsung i keep trying not to touch the screen because of super sensitive screen and software. Plus the lag even with 4gb of ram and octa core processors. Even does good with less ram

I'd probably go Note 8 personally.

Pound for pound it's the better device and certainly gives you more for your money.
