which one is your favorite?

Honestly...The Galaxy S8+. The screen is utterly stunning and huge at 6.2", but the device feels tiny in the hands. Just all around a fantastic device.

Though, had the Note 8 been available at the time, I would have gotten that instead.

In full discloser my current daily driver is my iPhone 8+ due to it being the new kid on the block mostly, not because I regard it as the better device.

Is there any smooth transition to get the Note 8 the iPhone to me seems so much more familiar it's all I have ever owned.

Not really. In the old days it was harder, but since Samsung introduced Smart Sync, it's pretty simple to make the switch.

https://www.samsung.com/us/smart-switch/

Google services are also highly portable, unlike Apple services, so switching back and forth is cake.

what do I do about my iCloud e-mails I tried to add one on my friends it wouldn't take it, how do I make that work?

My iCloud account was added to the Samsung Mail client easy. No issues.

is there any specific steps to do this? thanks for helping. I tried adding it to my friends phone and it said invalid, also is your icloud email push just like it comes on the iPhone?

I'd probably go Note 8 personally.

Pound for pound it's the better device and certainly gives you more for your money.

I will be honest, I think the Note 8 is a stellar device. And I know many may not have need for a stylus, but the S pen is what I would love to see with an iPhone, which I know won't happen. But I think it offer so many capabilities.

I'm inside the  ecosystem. I don't care that much if another phone has a little brighter display or slightly smaller bezel. The convenience of the ecosystem (AirDrop, Handoff, iCloud etc) is more important.

So iPhone for me.
If in the future I don't have a Mac/Watch/AirPods etc, then I might just as well try a Pixel or something else.

This is exactly why I don’t even consider having an Android device as my daily driver. I have loads of Android devices lying around & also use one for business number but never as a personal device.

I would say get the iPhone x if you've never used Android before.

But I think the note 8 is a gorgeous and excellent phone. My sister has and she's pretty happy with.

Before switching platforms you need to make sure your favorite ios apps are available on Android. Many people get disappointed when they find out their favorite app isn't on Android and just go back to iOS.

Also if you're not very tech literate you may find Android confusing or difficult to use.

I personally love Android. I recently dumped my iPhone 7 plus and went back to Android after 3 years with ios and loving it. I got a galaxy s8. But android is an acquired taste.

If you have no issues with Android then go for the note 8. You won't be disappointed.

Had the 3g,3gs,4,4s,5,6,6s so I had almost all iPhones. Had the s3 s4, s6, S7, now the s8. I love the s8 and so did I love the S7. Samsung came from a long way.

The note 8 should be even better than the s series. The iPhone 8 is just an upgraded iPhone 7. Which is not bad but.. The same.

I wouldn't trade my s8 for any IPhone but the X.

If you're not new to Android and can deal with the size definitely try the Note 8. I have yet to try it but its got nothing but great reviews. I know 2 friends that have it ( one came from iOS) and they both love it. If you're new to Android the Note might be overwhelming though.

I love my Note 8, but it sounds like iOS works well for you. I'd grab a Note 8 or S8/S8+ and try it for 14 days. Return it if not for you.

how were u able to add icloud email to ur note 8? my wife has an s8+ and can't get it to work. thanks in advance!
You have to go to your icloud account and get an app specific password after enabling 2-step authentication now to use any third party email app.

What was it about Android that bothered you?
It wasn't as smooth as I would have liked after a pretty short amount of time, but the worst thing is the quality of the apps. Of the apps I use most I could find replacements for all of them, but they all had compromises that made them worse than the iPhone equivalents. That obviously is a very personal preference thing, but for me Android didn't offer me enough over iOS to justify the stuff I felt I was giving up.

I’m on the fence now as my iPhone 6S plus is slow, battery life is horrible and not caring for iOS 11. I have had many androids in the past...my friend has a Galaxy 8+ I love it, but my owner concern and this is with the note 8 and my past androids is how after a yr they slow down and battery life is poor, but it sounds like android overall has made huge progress! I want the iPhone X but it seems like it won’t be for sometime. I’m not leaning towards the Note 8 or the Pixel XL 2 (stay away from LG, they literally break down in less than a yr, check out the current lawsuit moving forward in regards to this eek!)
My other friend has the original pixel xl since launch and loves it! No issues. I have a Mac and iPad and in the past never had any issues with transferring data over to Android phones btw. The only thing that sucks for me is iTunes and my movies :( but oh well

Honestly I have been thinking of switching for awhile now. I have a 7 plus currently but not really thrilled with the X and have been thinking about switching to the note 8. The screen is just beautiful. Ill always have an ipad and apple tv but lately ive been thinking about going pc and android
