That's because it's also the power button. It's supposed to click.Does anyone else have a touch ID button that feels a little cheap? Mine clicks and clacks back and forth when you touch it.

Hmmm. Mine doesn't wobble. It clicks/presses, but doesn't wobble.Really? I wasn't aware of that (sighs). Regardless, power buttons generally don't wobble back and forth in their sockets. Thank you for your learned comment nevertheless.
.I've owned the touch bar for a week now but the battery is really disappointing. The touchbar feels like a nice extra but it doesn't justify the 300 euro price difference for me.
So how much value do you put on the other specs? Better graphic card, 2.0 ghz vs 2.9, different ram. Will the non toucher perform similar?
.
This forum is currently full of interesting threads discussing theses issues and you're effectively asking for a précis which will tell you nothing. Go and have a good long read - it's certainly worth it.
Literally hundreds of threads on performance. The general consensus is that -Thanks for the reply and I understand what you're saying. I'm following the threads about the battery and I'm not waiting on a verdict on that. I am however hoping that someone with knowledge knows what the difference in ram, graphics card and processor speed will mean to my user experience.
Literally hundreds of threads on performance. The general consensus is that -
RAM is sufficient for everyone at the moment
CPU bumps are negligible in real life performance
DGPU is worth maxing out if you'll ever utiliise it
It comes down to your workflow and needs.
TB - if the slightly shorter battery isn't an issue this is a fab machine and the Touch ID is just fantastic
nTB - if those extra 2 hours mean the world of difference.
Hopefully, Apple will try and optimum the battery in the next few updates and all the people who swapped to the nTB just because of the battery will be disappointed. Early adopters always pay the price.
I agree with you. Touch ID is fantastic and I'm trusting apple to sort this out insofar it's possible. To bad I have only this week to decide whether I should return it but I'm leaning towards keeping it.
I'm in the same boat, and my main concern with the TB is battery life. What sort of battery life are you getting?
My 6 year old laptop is getting that level of performance on its old battery - I'm a bit shocked to see such poor numbers being reportedWith moderate use, safari (no youtube) WhatsApp and telegram, with 60% brightness I get max 6 hours. When I also watch youtube or play music with higher brightness (+-90%) it drops to around 3-4 hours. How about you?

Just wanted to let you know that my app, BetterTouchTool (alpha), now supports to fully customize the Touch Bar for any app you have installed. You can download the latest alpha from my blog: https://www.boastr.net/blog/
Yes. My touch bar contstantly freezes and now the Touch ID doesn't work at all. Hot corners are choppy, it doesn't seem to know what it'd doing. This computer is a total piece of **** right now. I really don't understand how badly they screwed this up.Is anyone else having issues with TB shortcuts and Mail?
The best feature I love is when watching videos. You can easily fast forward/ rewind, pause, exit full screen mode, all within the touch bar, Opening tabs and switching between them is very convenient, as well as many other things.
I hate how you can only get the full use out of it in official Apple apps. For example I like using chrome as my browser but then I don't get any of the same features as I would in Safari.
