I, personally, love the touch bar. I love the volume slider, the video scrubber being available everywhere, Safari enhancements, Touch ID, exc. I really hope they don't abandon it and I don't think they will.

I'm of the same mind as you. I only had the tb 15 inch for a little while before I returned it to wait for WWDC but I used Touch ID, video/audio scrubber, post-screenshot menu, and FaceTime call menu a lot.

Maybe we're in the minority but I thought it was much more useful than the function keys. Only thing I don't like is the lack of a physical escape key.

Something I don't think many touch bar users know is that you can immediately drag on the volume/brightness slider instead of tapping then dragging. Counters some of the arguments that the touch bar makes it harder to change volume or adjust brightness.

no, the future of mac laptops will be e-ink keyboard with touchbar
Not really sure why someone would need this e-ink keyboards... Yes you can change the Keyboard-Layout, but to be honest, how often does someone to change his Keyboard-Layout? Also I would suggest that the machines with e-ink keyboard are more expensive...

What I saw about e-ink keyboards yet wasn't really something I would want on a Laptop...

Im not sure how expensive it is to build machines with different Keyboard-Layouts, but I can not imagine that this would be cheaper...

Never used a function key in my life, I can't wait to need a new MBP so I can have the touchbar that would be far more useful to me that's for sure.

Do you look at the keyboard on your iPhone when you type? I don't, muscle memory.

No, but a few points that get added together, if not compounded:
1. The TB isn't a keyboard. The iPhone's keyboard is.
2. The TB changes. The iPhone's keyboard doesn't.
3. Using the TB requires you to lift your elbow and move your wrist. The iPhone's keyboard requires you to move your thumbs.

It depends a lot on the field you work in. If you work in linguistics, the ability to change the keyboard to other alphabets on the fly would be a godsend.

That would be the definition of a niche use case.

If Apple goes with some sort of “e-ink” or touch keyboard on macOS devices, like they have on their iOS devices, it would most likely be for a different reason, without use case in mind .... like a significant reduction of moving parts, that would (in theory) reduce the number of support claims.

Personally I think Apple should go back to the keyboard of the retinas.
Touch Bar is not needed but if they have it put the Touch Bar above the function keys.

no matter what still include touch ID, Face ID capable camera would be nice but also unnecessary.

At a bare minimum and it needs to have all the ports from the retina's but replace the two thunderbolts with to thunderbolt 3's
Of course it would be useful to have even more thunderbolt 3 in addition to those ports

If they want to get innovative put a screen in the glass trackpad.
Then optionally Make it as thick as the 2012 no retina and use the extra space just for batteries

If they did that they would literally make a computer everyone wants
