What's the difference between this and VNSea?

the VNC program has been out for a while now, and does the same thing... correct me if I'm wrong.

iPhone remote?

This is an awesome app, the one big difference I can see between this and iPhone remote is there is no lag over the network. I agree that this app has made me want to jailbreak my iPhone, however I will continue to use the web based stuff until I see what the SDK has in store for us. Lets indeed hope Apple decides to integrate a program like this with both safety and functionality...

it looks like a slight modification to the VNSea.
VNSea itself gets very choppy because it keeps showing the server display.
TouchPad modification turns off the server display, so the mouse control is very smooth and intuitive.
It's a deal-breaker as far as usability goes.

wishlist for the next version:
  • support for horizontal orientation of iPhone
  • support for saving keyboard shortcut presets for repeat use.
Slightly further down the road - ability to create and edit and interface with icons and switches for performing customizable functions. Those can be linked to a series of keyboard shortcuts, possibly handled through a program running directly on the server (PC/Mac).
Functions can be from pausing a playback to controlling electrical appliances if you have, say, X10 controller on your computer.

cool app :)

Can´t wait to download it when it´s available as SDK in iTunes ( my ipt is not jb and will never be :D)

Does it allow right click?? Remember anything apple can't right click, that's a windows only thing

eh? wot? My new mighty annoying mouse right clicks. ...sometimes. You just have to enable right clicking. ...and not have a defective mouse like I got. It goes from right-clicking and clacking with aplomb, to requiring the user to hold down the device with all four other fingertips, while reaching underneath the edge of the mouse with your right index finger, and pulling the right click up and toward you from underneath. Damn thing. this Touchpad.app actually works better than my expensive little mouse here.

I wonder if I can get a replacement under my superultramegawarranty, on grounds of it being ill-tempered and an all-around bad sport.

hm.

This is an awesome app.

Got it working when i was connected to the wireless, but doesnt work if im in school not on the wireless!

Is this right or am i not doing something wrong?

Thanks

I'm also a little concerned about giving access to my Mac using this thing. Does it mean that the creator of the app could start to access my files on my Mac if I use this? Not sure what the security implications are of giving someone access with Remote Desktop.

If it was on the 'official' list of sources it would be less worrying to me... having to add it manually as a source makes me a bit nervous.

Old, no new code as far as I am aware, was more of a proof of concept.
Does a lot of things, and acts a lot like a "media remote for your Mac". iPhone does not need to be JBed. It only works with Mac. It "is still a developer prototype and is intended only as a demo to get people started."

You're all nuts

This is simply a rip off of VNsea minus the on screen display! Its even the same menu on the bottom! Anyone who thinks that using there iPhone to control their computer is "great" when their full sized mouse and keyboard are just as close, should be slapped. I use VNsea all the time to do the exact same thing, but usually when I'm miles away from my computer.

Well, I'd like to control my TV computer from my sofa. I have a wireless mouse/keyboard of course, but I see value in this. Does VNSea also have a keyboard? I've not tried it and am unclear as to the differences.

Question, is there a way to get the computer's screen to simultaneously show on the iPhone to make moving the cursor around easier to view/control?
