Unfortunately not the case for me. Definitely saw the delayed response again on 16.1.16.1 seems to have fixed this for me. I haven't seen the slow TrueTone issue since I updated. 16.1 has been much better all around for me. Seems like 16.1 is what 16.0 was supposed to be.
Bummer... I'm at 2+ days now and still haven't seen the TuruTone issue again. Not sure if that's attributed to 16.1, the force reboot I needed to do for the "black screen of death", or a combination of both.Unfortunately not the case for me. Definitely saw the delayed response again on 16.1.
Completely forgot about the second sensor. Good point.I still see the issue at random times on my 14PM. I think it's buggier in part due to the new second Ambient sensor added to the back of the iPhone. It's just favors warmer tones more so than previous gens, and it changes very suddenly at times.
Which options? Reset All Settings?Apple support advised me to reset settings yesterday and I didn’t see the issue until now. I hope it works for you also.
Though I think the brightness can be uncharacteristically slow to respond versus other iPhones I've had, for the most part this issue has been resolved for me since 16.1.Hi, a new iOS 16.1.1 update has been released today. It only mentions security fixes. Has anyone updated and can report if the issues is fixed. Also important: Do you feel the device being slower etc? In my experience only the first iOS version the phone was shipped with is snappy and smooth and as soon as you update you lose some portion of that.
There was no such error on my 14Pro. A couple of days ago I bought a 14Pro Max (now iOS 16.2), on which I found this bug.Ok, i'm on iOS 16.1.2 now and the bug continues. 👎
About 15 secondsHi all. I'm curious to know if other 14 Pro Max users are experiencing this. Hopefully it's a bug and not a hardware issue.
Coming out of standby / AOD, my 14 Pro Max takes about 10 seconds to respond to ambient light to change the white point. For example, if I am in a cold / blue light area, the phone wakes up with a yellow white point and takes 10 seconds or more for True Tone to cool to an appropriate white point.
On my 13 Pro, this happened so quickly I never noticed it. Unfortunately on the 14 it means I am greeted with a yellow display every time I unlock the phone and it does not look good. With True Tone off, the white point matches my 13 Pro with True Tone off, so it's definitely True Tone that's the problem and not the display itself.
I'm seeing similar behaviour with brightness. Perhaps it is a bug in relation to AOD or the additional light sensor this year.
Anyone else seeing this?
Same with photo. Is there any solution?Same here! And other thing: if i change (swipe between) from any app or iPhone menu to a photo opened in app photos, I can see the screen changing a little bit. (Like a single flash / blink / color adjust). But if i have the same photo on iCloud folder and if I do the same (swipe between some app and this folder nothing strange happen).
Note: I only can see this with external low light and and with iPhone screen with low light too. (It’s almost imperceptible with some external light).
I noticed this yesterday after posting a photo on instagram and I was comparing it to the one I had in the photo gallery.
Anyone else with this?
how did you solve the problem?Same thing on my 14 Pro, even after 16.0.2. Sounds like it’s a software bug, and I only learned that on the forum. But it’s frustrating to feel like you might have to call Apple before the return period ends or else potentially be stuck with an AppleCare refurb (if it was a hardware issue).
16.2 same bugCame here for this very thing. I've seen the same exact behavior on my 14 Pro Max. I'm assuming it's a software issue. Anyone know if this has been resolved in 16.1?
Same here, iOS 16.2, apparently the feature was ruined like back then the auto brightness in 1OS 14, it doesn't work properly anymore until today.16.2 same bug
