The longer the wait, the more joy you'll have by receiving...well at least that's what I keep telling myself 
I suppose you preordered and then felt hurt by my comment on users that ordered blindly without to know anything about any delivery date.
I'm sorry you can't see how by doing it you encourage and support such very bad behavior. If it becomes a fairly noteworthy commercial success it will be a date generating on purpose scarcity management. I know there's nothing new, it makes even worse to support such crap.
I'm finally starting to read that the factory just might be too small.
Apple had a deaf ear on this one and the pent up demand is clearly taking them by surprise.
I had a chance to nab a stock 6c and did. I think the standard 256GB SSD is a little weak for a machine of this class, but I think I will be able to upgrade that eventually.

Actually, the more the demand, the worst Apple looks to their customers' eyes. That kind of shortage after 2 months or release looks bad because of the orders' high rate, not despite of it. If the demand keeps these high rates for a little longer, they will have to do something about it, either they like it or not as it will be obvious that they'll start lose customers.

Yeah, had the same thought until I saw my delivery going from Louisville to Newark back to Louisville ... going insane right now. Delivery date already went from monday to tuesday. These things really do annoy me now since it's already since end december I've been waiting.
I waited close to two months for a G4 Powerbook, so I don't think your argument holds true.
I will say it is ridiculous to have such long wait times and I would be just as frustrated. I know I was when I ordered my G4 Powerbook back in the day.
I will place my order when the store says "Up to 3 business days".
If Apple will constrain the availability due to component costs (i.e. they don't want to waste money storing them without orders), they can do that, but I will not be one of those customers who spend 7000 Euro and wait 3 month.
My guess is that they currently pay premium prices for the Xeons and the ATI chips. This actually makes their margin change quite a lot due to currency fluctuatton.

I had to wait 2 months for my late 2009 iMac. Your argument that Jobs would not have allowed this has been invalidated.
Mine did the same today..shipping to Germany. I don't know what's going on..is this normal behavior?

Not too sure ... It's just weird you know. My ETA was set for monday but already postponed to tuesday. Doesn't really give me too much confidence.
Why do you even care? You've already stated there are 100 (actually your list is sort of 6) reasons not to buy one....
If you aren't going to buy one, why do you care if it takes 2 months to get to those who do want one?
Don't apologize for "having" to choose this forum to complain but I too don't see why you care. There are already 6 reasons out of 100 possible to not buy the new macpro. Shipping times do not affect those who have already found 6 reasons to not buy something.
FWIW, clowns have nothing to do with it. I'm pretty sure there are no clowns involved in the manufacturing of a MacPro.
Mine sticks to tuesday.

I agree with the OP on this one. I recently ordered a BO mac mini and it took an age to effectively add a different CPU and an SSD. I can understand the nMP being in constraint for a bit due to it been new, but I would expect my updates to add around 1 day to the order time for a mac min. It took 2 weeks. I also agree 2 months for any computer, new or not is too long.

I try to remember that this machine is being built in the hill country in the middle of Texas, by Americans. It is not being spit out of a Foxconn behemoth factory the size of Austin, in China.
This is clearly a popular new product, but the initial rush will die down, and it would bet the factory is sized to meet the expected ongoing demand.
I also think they rushed the go live date to meet their earlier promise, and had some supply chain issues happen unexpectedly.
When I inspect the order/delivery spreadsheet, it appears that the CTO boxes using the 256gig SSD are shipping the slowest. I upgraded my hex nMP only in the GPU, planning on upgrading memory and SSD as time goes on. There are several deliveries of D700 boxes with bigger SSD units, but boxes like mine are still undelivered. My feeling is that the 256 SSD are being put in the base nMP promised to the third party resellers, slowing the CTO boxes with 256 gig. Just an observation. Not like I have my nMP to mess with ATM.

Two months does seem a bit long to me. I waited just over a month for the thin 2012 iMac when it was released, due to "constraints". I don't think I'd want to wait longer.
On the other hand, it's a tough balance to be made in planning for the demand. Not just securing the components, but financially commiting to production size and workforce. Overestimate (if component availability even allows for this) and it's resources down the drain. Play it safe and the release is constrained. I'm not aware of any other company who has the potential for this big of a spike to plan for when they release a new workstation. That can't be easy. Or exact.

Since you think the Mac Pro is terrible and posted why no one should buy it, why should you care how long the delivery is?
This might be because of weather issues in the eastern U.S. this week. A lot of airports had their runways closed.
Just in time manufacturing and no doubt sales have seriously exceeded their most pessimistic predictions. It will take a good few months to ramp up production.
Sorry, but high demand and longer ship times isn't a new problem with pro-level Macs.
Back in 2004, I ordered a G5 and it took a month to arrive (and I placed my order 4 months after they initially started shipping). And Jobs was definitely around to oversee that update.
