I didn't. It showed up four days before Apple said it would, so I really wasn't paying attention yet to the FedEx website.
That's kinda what I thought. There really wouldn't be a reason to check it that soon. I've never had much luck with Fedex and was hoping I'd get it via UPS, but as long as I receive it on Friday like they say, that'll be fine. Good luck with your delivery!

Both Apple and FedEx still say that my computer is supposed to be delivered Friday also, but I’ve been watching the tracking details don’t agree with that - FedEx shows it out for delivery today! I’m expecting to see it this evening, hopefully before dark. Mine is a 16” M2 Max 64GB/4TB.
Woo, hoo! My computer was delivered late this afternoon! It took a little over an hour to migrate everything to do the new one. It didn't go completely smoothly since my old Intel computer was still running Monterey and a couple of items needed updates to run on this new one. I haven't checked out everything yet, but so far so good. The new procedures for security are going to take getting used to. What I'm really happy about is that Lightroom is quite a bit faster, haven't yet played around with Photoshop yet. So far I'm ecstatic with it.

Shipped overnight, expected Thursday! (That would be 1 week after ordering, BTO M2 Max w/64GB, 1TB, original delivery 2/14 - 2/16, Apple still says 2/13, lets see how it goes!)
Memphis, Tennessee!!! Woohoo... I've seen packages from FedEx scan in Memphis later in the day than this one that still get delivered same day (One this past Friday didn't get local until almost noon). I'm hoping for today or tomorrow :).

I'm happy for everyone who has received their 'puters. Mine is still up in the air, but I'm optimistic.

It's been in Oakland, CA (I'm 20 minutes east of there) since Saturday evening. In the morning yesterday the FedEx website said delivery by noon. Later in the day it said delivery by end of day. At 4:30 PM it said delayed with no estimate. Today it says delayed with delivery by noon.

FedEx communication is challenging. I attribute it to carryover effects from the storm in Memphis.

Wow! Good luck, I hope you get (got) your computer today. I’ve had occasional issues with my local FedEx sorting facility, but not on a regular basis.

Another update, and really only for laughs.

Eventually Fedex removed the delayed indicator and left it saying it will be delivered by noon. A bit later, still saying deliver by noon at the top, the bottom of the progress bar changed to "before end of day". Now, they've removed the estimate at the top and all that's left is "before end of day" at the bottom.

I've never tracked FedEx so carefully, so I don't know if they are always this vague on their website. But with this delivery, I've felt obliged to track it since I know they'll leave it on the step without letting me know. I finally broke down and put a sign on my front door - "FedEx please knock". Now I can stop checking and just wait till my dogs go crazy.

It came! I'm busy setting it up. I always start a new machine fresh, so it's a long slog.

It came at 7:00 PM. I talked to the FedEx driver. He said that it's always up to the shipper whether to require a signature. Apple did not. If a signature is not required, they don't bother knocking on the door. That last part is poor policy. A simple knock (without even waiting for someone to come to the door) would be helpful.

Congrats on the new computer!!

As far as your question about the top and bottom status not quite matching up - mine did at one point. When they did the international shipment release in Phoenix it was on the bottom section as being back in Memphis, but the top said release in Phoenix. I didn't have to sign for mine either - I had my front door open and saw the driver come up the walk.

what's even weirder...

I just went back through my email (I haven't deleted anything) and found the email from Apple regarding my M1 Pro being shipped. I have this:

FDX has never held anything from Apple for local pickup.. Hell, they wouldn't even hold the Apple Cloth for local pickup!

Out for delivery!!! New Mac day, woohoo! :)

Considering this is the fastest single core performance you can get today and that it was custom and ordered less than a week ago, I"m pretty impressed that they can get it completed and shipped so quickly. (I did see on YT that their product launch meta was from Oct 2022 though) I remember a Gateway my family ordered in 1996, it was a Pentium Pro 200Mhz machine that took months to arrive. (I did crap a brick when UPS pulled up, I can still recall the cow spotted boxes).

I had some weird tracking blurbs (CN > JP > CN) but it looked normal enough every 12 - 24 hours (slightly obsessing over this machine, been a minute since an upgrade).

And this is why I’m going to pick up my BTO at my neighborhood Apple store! The anxiety of waiting for an expensive item, and knowing that the delivery driver might not even alert me when it is delivered (and I live in an apartment building in NYC on a busy street!). I have had plenty of packages ‘disappear.’ I would be very upset if it were something expensive like a MBP. Also, the way they handle packages…I feel like orders delivered directly to Apple will be handled more carefully.

GLAD that you received your MBP just fine after all the drama! 😂

Living in a NYC apartment? Yep, deliver to the Apple Store.

When I ordered mine, it gave a range of dates for delivery if it were delivered to my address. If I ordered it to be delivered to the Apple Store, it said it would be delivered on the last day of the range given for home delivery. In my case, my computer arrived several days before the earliest delivery date. I wonder if it would have arrived the same day if I had it delivered to the Apple Store, or would it have been delivered later - I can see some logistics reasons why it could be longer to have it delivered to the store (like being shipped in a bulk shipment, rather than going out immediately like a shipment to a residential address).

I’m lucky to live in a situation where I was home and could see (and hear) the delivery person arrive - it’s been warm so the windows and door were open. Even if I weren’t home I wouldn’t be concerned about a package being left on my walk, as long as I were going to be going home before dark. But then, I don’t live in New York.

Went from mid-2015 i7 MBP to a 16” m2 pro 16gb 1TB. Nice bump, but still thinking I should have went 32gb.

Ah! Only had it 4 days and left it near an open window last night! Of course it rained!!
Managed to get some drops on it, but it is in a case and seemed ok, still taking it to a genius appt today to confirm all is okay… hehe maybe that’s my opening to switch to a 32gb or m2 max🤣🤣

If you tell them you got it wet, will they still accept a return?

Lol. I was joking about that.. but, I think it’s okay.., I may be over-reacting. It’s in a fintie hard shell case and there were just a couple of droplets on the outer shell… and I had it in clamshell mode.

Does Apple use Fed Ex and ship out of Shanghai for 16 MacBook Pro M2?

8.6 lbs sounds right?

My computer came FedEx from Shanghai and a similar weight (didn’t pay that close attention to the weight). Shipped to the US.
