I'm so jealous. It was 100 degrees here yesterday in San Diego area. Stifling hot. I lived in northern Canada for a good part of my life. I actually miss the -30 temps in the winter. Also miss the cool summer mornings.

-30 would be too cold for me. Coldest I've been outside is -25 degrees in the NH White Mountains (it was like that for a week).

Ahh I remember that California heat! I grew up in Brentwood in the East Bay. Those Bay Area summers were HOT! I don't miss the triple digit heat of California, but I do miss the DRY aspect of the heat! 100 degrees in California is much more tolerable than 90 in Chicago!

I could deal with those -30 degree temps! I have family sprinkled all across the country, and some live in Fairbanks. Crazy winters up there!!!

We got down to 36 last night. FINALLY! I like summer, but this summer was a hot one that felt like it would never end, so I'm definitely ready for fall and winter! Bring it on!!!

I won't mind either, even though we escaped with only a few minor heat waves this summer. I like my cool weather.

Seven thirty this morning it was 24ºF outside. I'm like uh OK then, I might turn the furnace on for awhile after all, at least until after breakfast. I don't usually use heat until mid-October like any well-trained ex-NYC denizen, but I do have my limits up here and 24ºF outside means it's not going to play nice in here without heat after a couple nights like that.

Somehow we may have escaped a killing frost of at least the hardy stuff, since there was a breeze that lasted until after nightfall and it was a little more overcast than they said it would be for some of the overnight.

Still I think judging from the tomatoes and zucchinis being shared out around the 'hood the last few days, most folks are stripping their gardens now to avoid the hassle of having to cover and uncover tender vegetation.

I've actually experienced -40 temps. -41 was the coldest for me to feel. Dang that's cold. You have to cover all your skin to prevent frostbite. Cars won't start unless plugged in. It cooled down here today to a nice 89.

Apple trees around here will sometimes just split wide open along previously opened frost cracks in their trunks, if it gets down around -35 or -40ºF overnight. I've only heard that once in my life in the early 1980s. Sounds like somebody sighting a rifle, but at 3 o'clock in the morning.

As a lad, I walked past a Community College Marquee that indicated sub 0ºF on my way to school. I did a 10K run on a work stay in the snow at about 20ºF. This week will be between 90 and 100ºF during the day, cooling to the mid 70s at night.

LOL, the local meteorologists make it a big deal when there's a frost warning around here. "Bring your pets indoors! Move your container plants closer to buildings!"

:p

Where I went to school in upstate New York, the temperature of my first winter reached -40f in the nighttime for three days in a row before warming up to a toasty 0F (I was made of different stuff then decades ago). I like it hot, like the valley (Phoenix).

I miss the cold. Lived up in the high desert (California) from 2011-2018 and we got snow a few days of the year - wasn't abnormal to see below 0F in the winter.

Here closer to LA it rarely got below 50F (being closer to the sea) and the humidity has been very kind to our skin.

I experienced -25F in Iowa one winter (had a week of freezing ice where we couldn't drive anywhere). That was so much fun. Tried to pump gas without gloves and ... regretted the attempt when it burned like fire trying to put feeling back into my fingers.

May be because I'm overweight but I much prefer cooler temperatures. Back when I was 180 pounds in 2010 (60 pounds lighter than I am now) - I was freezing in the summer time... Time to get my butt back in shape!

I live in Scotland now but grew up near Washington DC. I do not miss the heat and humidity DC summers. I also spent some time in Cleveland OH when I was a kid, and I can't say I miss sub-zero (F°) winter days from there either. Having eyelashes freeze together loses its novelty real quick.

We had frost warnings this weekend. After tonight, things warm up to low 40s to 50s at night and 60s to 70s during the day for about ten days. That's almost perfect for me.

Same with walking out of the student union building into -15ºF and having the impulse buy of an ice cream cone turn into granite against the tongue!

I prefer cold. I can always dress for that. When it's hot you can only take so much off before you get in trouble. By cold I mean around -10 at most. -40 hurts to even breath in. Sucks the life out of you.

I like moderate temperatures and four seasons.

Warmer temperatures are nice for running, tennis, cycling and swimming outdoors. You can replicate this indoors but it isn’t the same real environment. It’s nice to have winter to cleanse.

Tomorrow's forecast is another day in the mid-90s Fahrenheit (I'm guessing about 33-35 degrees Centigrade) with a gradual cooling trend.
