Who just bought the new iPad Air or Pro?

I just purchased an iPad Pro - 13 inch with the magic keyboard. Managed to get a discount through Unidays too.

FYI, the store was live much sooner if you went through the Unidays link! I was able to order my iPad Pro even before the event ended lol.

Delivery date by next week.

They come with a black braided cable and the nano screens come with a polishing cloth 👀

I’ve gone for the Pro 13 and I’m doing the trade-in on my M1 13. Apple offered £435 but if I get an 80% seller deal on eBay this weekend I might try and shift it there and see what happens.

Wish the Smart Folio had a few more colour choices though!

Stupid question, will my pencil, gen 2, work on the new pro, or do I have to buy a new one of those too.?

Ordered from the Apple UK web store a few minutes after the presentation ended. No problems whatsoever getting a basic 11" WiFi-only space-black Pro for either delivery or in-store collection at my nearest store on 15th May.

According to the "Compare iPad Models" page, the new iPads are *not* listed as compatible with the Gen 2 Pencil. Bit of a pain as I want the "wireless" charging instead of USB-C, have a Gen 2 right here, and don't need the extra features of the new one.

Ordered my 11 inch (coming from an M1 12.9, now the display is upgraded I can downsize), but waiting for the pencil to be on Amazon as I have a gift card there and I can't be actually spending money on that as it feels like a forced upgrade.

is the new pro needing the new magic keyboard? If the new air lets you use the current pro magic keyboard that makes the price difference huge.

casual user but its my main ‘computer’ other than occasions I’ll borrow my wife’s MBA for a big excel edit or a website that won’t play ball with ipad.

13” air - £799 and reuse my 12.9 pro magic keyboard
13” pro - £1299 + magic keyboard £349 = £1649 - over twice the price!

and if it needs a pencil upgrade from the previous magnetic one that’ll be a pain although the presentation suggested you could choose, the store doesn’t seem to agree

Yes that’s the first place I looked and noted it didn’t refence it. Like you, I don’t need those upgrades as I use mine mostly for note taking and signatures. The thought of having to pay for another pencil when this does what I need is urgh!

Replacing my 12.9 M1 with the 13in 256gb in black. Bagged £100 off through the education store too 🥳

Got my fingers crossed that it quietly supports it, but, y'know, this is Apple we're talking about lol

I am mostly regretting not selling my old iPad Pro Magic Keyboard case last week while it was still worth something.

£465 trade in which is more than Music Magpie so thats a simpler route. would have preferred not replacing the keyboard but I managed to make this one last two updates and its slowly falling apart so not the end of the world.

If I really have to get a new pencil at least the cost isn’t too bad but thats a dumb move by Apple

Waiting for John Lewis to list their prices. Got an iMac from them last year for like £250 less than I would have paid at Apple.
