Hi All,

Thought I would make a UK thread so we can keep track of everyone’s orders and get updates on dispatch etc.

I ordered the 64GB, WiFi only, purple model. Got my order in as soon as the keynote finished. Still processing.

Ah I really want to preorder but I’ve bought a Mac mini M1 & discounted MacBook Pro M1 this year which has set me back £1500.

I have an iPad Air 3 and mainly use it for reading books and YouTube.

i can get £198 for it at music magpie which will make the purchase around £280 for the base iPad mini 6.

I may wait a few weeks for the reviews to come in before making the purchase.

Ordered purple 256/cellular with cherry folio for delivery 24/9. It’s the design I had been hoping for for such a long time. Will stretch out use of my iPhone X for a bit longer with this bigger screen.
Same colour combo that I ordered. On another thread someone suggested it was a terrible choice. Pick mine up week Friday.

I ordered purple with dark cherry too. I think it’ll look great.

can’t wait for next week! Was hoping it would ship early since they will be busy with the iPhone launch.

About to order a 64gb Mini, was hoping to collect in store as I’ll likely get a new iPhone too, but none of my local Apple stores seem to be available for collection on the 24th, anyone else in the same boat?

I can collect the smart case in store. I just know if I order delivery, it will arrive as I’m out getting my iPhone ?

I think my local store had an option to collect right after the keynote but their stock must be gone.

I’ve gone for delivery but my guys don’t usually show up first thing so I should be ok with collecting the iPhone before the iPad gets here.

Next Friday is going to be expensive ?

Does anyone know if the new mini is elibile for the “back to school” promotion for students on the UK Apple website? It looks to be but I’m unclear.

Am unsure whether to buy the purple or the starlight, both look great.

Am going to mull it over, have got one in my basket to check out on a retailer website. Think I will keep my Air 4 and sell the 12.9. I love it, but it is too damn big for me and I tend to reach for my MBA more.

I've pre-ordered the purple and will order a black cherry case when I'm checking out the 13Pro tomorrow. Having looked at some images of the Starlight, I'm not sure its for me on this device.

Went through a huge process today to cancel my 256GB WiFi and order a 64 Cellular, the whole process was very clunky, un-Apple and a huge pain. Can't even link order with my Apple ID!

Still got laugh day delivery supposedly, we shall see!

Does anyone know if you can split payment over 2 cards? Chose my CC for the specifically for the cashback but it’s a subprime card so the limit is only £500. With cellular and AC+ it comes to £688. If not can I buy a gift card for say £200 with my debit card and do it that way? If that’s possible what is the gift card I need? I don’t think the Apple gift cards I’m used to can be used for device purchases.

Thanks for any help - really don’t fancy the bus to the Apple Store with infection rates as they are.

Split card payments

Not sure you can do that online due to issues around refunds and proof of purchase. There does not seem to be an option to split payment via different methods. You can get discounts on gift cards through your employment discount schemes if yours has one - around 5-10%.

Apple gift cards

App Store & Itunes gift cards - apps, music, movies, and services

Apple store gift cards - for hardware purchases

Anyone going for the 256Gb Cellular? I am because I don’t think we’ll see an upgrade for a few years as this is the first major upgrade for a while. Probably don’t need the cellular (always have trouble deciding this!) but 64Gb? Come on!…128Gb maybe but 64?

Anyway, WiFi? Cellular?….

256GB WiFi+Cellular slipped to one month delay pretty quickly (afternoon/evening of keynote). I plan on just trying my luck ordering for in-store pickup around dawn on release day.

Mercifully our dates don’t seem to have slipped by as much as those in the US, but I might be saying differently by the time I can actually order!

I was in two minds on Cellular on the Mini 5 but went with it and got the use out of it so I will do so again, even if £140 for the upgrade is getting to the limit of what I’d pay for it. I have more of a problem with the £20 extra on it than the £80 increase in the base price, which I think is justified in the significant redesign.

I did - not bought a cellular for a long time, but this is an ipad to carry around outside a lot and not always wanting to tether to iPhone which drains battery and inconvenient for me.

I went Cellular too, since I've had it on my iPad Air I've really got used the convenience of it and I'm going to be on the go with the Mini all day.
