Hi
i too would like a screen protector and also need it too feel like paper
on my 12.9 I tried paper like original but wasn’t impressed. Changed for a Japanese one much better but very matte.

just seen this, what do you think?

Not sure - I have no idea if tempered glass and a Matt finish work well together but my impatience is making me consider it.
I saw paperlike are quoting at least end oct for pre orders.

I think jelly scroll is bad for me because I always read and scroll at the same time (I always accidentally highlight books that don’t scroll in the kindle app because of it) and I have a neurological issue that causes visual things to make me dizzy. So I need to either learn not to do that or return it. It’s a thinker.

Received my iPad mini 6 on Friday and love it. Opted for the 5G model as do use it out and about and don't want to have to rely upon tethering to my iPhone always. Am using it mainly for browsing web, emailing, watching videos, playing games and more. Have tried centre stage which worked well and will use it if it is incorporated into Teams and Zoom. Hope there bring centre stage to all their products going forward. The iPad mini Is a complimentary device and not my main machine so fits my needs perfectly. I find the screen is very good as pro motion is wasted on me and don't care for OLED on such a small screen. Jelly scroll is something I have not experienced actively thankfully. Having used all forms of iPad from the budget, mini, Air and IPP 12.9 I do feel they all work fast and can use any app. Which one should you get? It comes down to your budget, screen size preference, screen preference and how you intend to use it.

TLDR: Great device

No but I’ve found their stock reporting to be horrendous - none in stock anywhere and can’t deliver but it’s not shown on their main pages when you look. Fingers crossed for you! Otherwise I’d go John Lewis if apple times are pushing out and sign up for stock alert emails…

They (argos) were showing as available for some day delivery or to pick up in store the same day or next day in my area but I was sceptical. I also saw that they were available in my local PC world but it kept fluctuating. Some times it says its in stock and other times it says you have to order it in. So I decided I would just go to the PC world store at opening time and see if they actually had any in stock. Went last Thursday morning. I was the first customer in. Of course as soon as I got in a store assistant pounced on me. I said I was looking for the new iPad mini. She said she didn’t think they had any in stock as they were having to order them in for customers but they had just had an order in so she would check if they received any. They had got one in stock so I bought it.

Amazon still seem to have most colours and configurations in stock for next day delivery.

I had the chance to go to my local Apple store yesterday so I decided to go and check out the Minis for myself.

Having checked out the display model I couldn't see anything out of the ordinary. I had intended to just decide if I wanted a Mini, to check out the Air (hadn't seen those in person either) to choose a colour and join the queue in a while for extended returns. I came out with the last one they had in the configuration I wanted.

I think it's a keeper, and seeing it still unavailable at many places, garages out of fuel on the way to the Apple Store and the speculation about what might be introduced in the budget, I'm relieved to have picked one up while I had the chance.

There were some pictures of some yellow, not very bright screens but mine feels sharper than my Mini 5. The increased screen size is very welcome as I think the Air would be too big for me unless I was using it at a desk.

I preferred the Rose Gold of the Air to the pink of the Mini (the former seems more pink) and went with the purple.

I would be worried about buying from Argos in case you should notice and be bothered by any jelly scrolling - things may have changed since, but they have in the past excluded electronics from returns.

John Lewis seem to have one in white city! Sign up to their email alerts, I’ve found that pretty reliable in the past (assuming there’s one near you)

Hi
The nearest John Lewis to me is in
Nottingham about 45 miles away
Since they shut the Sheffield one
If I get one from Argos and it’s faulty
They should replace or refund
