I had a Paperlike on my first iPad Pro, but I haven't bothered since, if you keep your iPad in a case there's not that much need.
Screen protectors anyone? I usually apply the Paperlike but they are expensive. Any recommendations ? Or don’t you bother?

I always use a matte screen protector on my iPads. this avoid smudges. I rarely have to wipe down the screen. You do lose some clarity but it’s worth it avoid smudges and glare.

How are you finding the screen difference in terms of quality? I’m downgrading from a 11” pro so good to know what you think 👍🏽
The fact that I struggle go notice a difference probably tells you all you need to know. Granted I only had the pro for about 4 weeks and sold it before my mini arrived so don’t have them side by side. On paper there are differences but not noticeable, this is great to use

So those who have bought the cellular version - who do you use for a SIM ? PAYG ? Contract ? Long time since I’ve had cellular in an iPad (2013 Air I think) so bit out of touch. Thinking I might have some usage cases for the cellular mini.
I have gone for Sky Mobile, I have only gone for 10GB at £10 a month with the flexibility to change if needed. My biggest data drain will be streaming sport on sky go but sky offer unlimited data on their apps.

You can also save your unused data to use at a later date, so thinking after about 3 months I may have enough data saved up to move to a cheaper tariff. It is also on the O2 network whereas my phone is Vodafone, I wanted them on seperate ones.

My Mini is arriving this morning. I only ordered it last night from Sky at about 8:30pm.
Didnt choose any data plan with it, essentially it's just a device plan over 3 years but I can't see Apple upgrading the Mini in that time, given how long it took them to update this one!

I was purple all the way after release but have ended up with Starlight. I don't like black or 'grey' devices at all, (boring), and the purple in some lights looked like a muddy grey / silver. So starlight seemed a good choice.

Will likely pair it with a folio anyway, but the lighter colour means it'll go with any colour Folio.

Had an iPad Air (2020) earlier this year which I loved but ended up selling due to getting an iMac for our household which we both use and absolutely love. But I miss my iPad so much for night time / sofa browsing so felt the Mini would be a great fit!

I'm going to try giffgaff first but I got a voxi sim to try too. I probably won't use it that much but I was thinking it might work well as a hotspot while working from home if my broadband goes out. My phone's on EE and the signal isn't always great at home. I was debating buying a new mifi (mine doesn't seem to like giffgaff) but this seemed a better plan.

Anyone else here in the UK got some images / first impressions of their Mini?

I absolutely love it. Have a iPad Pro but at the moment that’s not getting a look in.

One thing though is that I keep trying to swipe up to unlock with Face ID instead of the finger unlock…

Good to hear - I’m going to try picking one up this week! But was also thinking about the whole lack of Face ID as I’m so used to my iPad Pro which will be going..

Yeah, I prefer Face ID but the fingerprint works well. Just a case of getting used to.

I’ve got an esr paper one on my 12.9IPP and I’m very impressed. I find writing directly on glass for me is too skiddy.
I’ve emailed them and they’ve submitted it to the product department so that may be a while off. I think the 12.9 ones were 2 for £18.99 which is much cheaper than the paper like, but I may have “little choice” if one isn’t forthcoming. Still toying with the idea of cutting the spare 12.9 one down.

Also now waiting for the goodnotes release as they’ve confirmed the bug whereby stylus support in the app is missing will be fixed in the next update. I’ve gotten so used to single finger navigating switching behaviours for different iPads is tricky (first world problems I know).

Contemplating going naked case wise and getting apple care for the first time on any device. Anyone add afterwards at student prices (I bought the iPad using my student login)?

I’m not convinced I am. Im also using 12.9 and 11 IPP so I wouldve thought I’d be sensitive to it. I did some test website and it seemed fine. the small touch points is another issue entirely

Which mini model do you have? Good you are not seeing the issue!
