I ordered another one from Currys in case Apple order messed up for launch day store pick up.

Anyone has experience with launch day delivery by Currys? Do they normally hit the delivery target in launch day?

If it's anything like last year for the 11pro then no - I got my launch day iPhone 11 Pro in October.

Preordered Pacific Blue iPhone 12 Pro! 😁 Did the preapproval with Barclays yesterday which was accepted but my order seems to on hold.

Upgrading from 11 Pro which I got on the IUP last year. Worked out cheaper getting the 12 Pro on a payment plan with £500 trade in. Balance is less than that on the iPhone Upgrade Programme loan so I’ll just pay that off. Going to call Apple and cancel AppleCare+ for a refund on the 2nd year for an extra saving.

£31 a month (with Applecare £10 Monthly sub) is a lot better than £56 a month on upgrade programme! 😁

Went with pacific pro with EE as get 20% off works out like £8pm difference from the regular 12 so why not go pro

I suspect given the Covid risks that they’d either have no facility for doing a device to device migration in store or would strongly prefer you to restore from backup (iTunes or iCloud) at home. My wife’s IUP upgrade a couple of months back had one customer/one staff member per table in store, the new device handed over still boxed and then out of the store to setup ourselves at home.
when I picked up my SE this week (had paid outright online) they didn't even let me into the store.. they bought it outside, checked my ID and sent me on my merry way!

Due to Apple pay refusing to believe that my address was indeed valid, and the hold up that caused, my order has now updated to show delivery on 2nd November.

First world problem, but very very disappointed, given that when I had it in my cart first time around it was showing the 23rd October.
wait and get a pro max :D

My Apple Store app has just updated to 23rd so looks like everything is in order. Will car magnet accessories work with the mag safe? Will get one for the car

Screen Protectors, will Apple have them for the new models and still fit them ?
I've ordered a Belkin one from their website, says it's for 12 and 12 Pro

My wife and I both ordered iPhone today and the bank bizarrely decided to decline my payment. I got a text asking if it was me and to reply ‘YES’ to confirm. I did that and then had to ring mobiles.co.uk to reorder. Luckily it was just paused for further action, so I will still get it on launch day apparently. Seems weird blocking a £379 payment which is quite a small sum of money compared to what goes in and out of my account.
things you buy one off, desirable items like a phone will flag in the auto fraud checks more than regular larger payments which you have some history of

Got a bone to pick with you!!

if you hadn’t mentioned about still having store pickups I wouldn’t have ordered one for pickup 🤣
Apple don't give me commission honest!

Will be really interesting to see how the do iUP customers this year, what the protocols will be etc.

I’m kinda glad they are staggering the releases so that, when I go to order a Pro Max, I’ll know exactly what I’m letting myself in for.

Also hopefully translates to more stock and more visitation slots.

As a reminder, this year customers on iUP can reserve any model and if you miss out on launch day stock you can still reserve - instead of last year’s ‘currently unavailable’ you get ‘arrives by....’. Not sure how they choose time slots that way though.

Hmmmm ordered 12 Pro 128GB direct

But can get the same phone with 100GB data on a 24 month contract with EE for £58 a month which I’m tempted to opt for instead now

I’m not pre ordering until I see hands on videos. I’m upgrading from the xs max and leaning towards the pro max.
