No, not yet. The order confirmation just says 'expect delivery by Thursday 22 October'. I'd expect a DPD shipping email by Wednesday/Thursday.

Just had a DM with TeamKnowHow. Tracking for Pre-order launch day delivery will be updated by a day in advance. Most likely we will receive tracking by Thursday. Not sure whether it will be DPD as this is my first time delivery order from Currys. Just staying hopeful and hope they don’t cock up with insufficient stock message.

Is this with swappable? You’ve done well there either way.

I have now been told twice now, once on phone and once via live chat that £25 is the cheapest for the 200GB swappable with no room for discount, including student beans on that. Even tho on the student beans website it even highlights that plan.

no swappable but still happy with it even thou 100GB which is OTT for my needs. even gifting data to my iPad don’t even use a 1/4 of current 60GB

I’ve got an iPhone for collection on Friday but I’m recovering from a busted knee so is it possible to designate someone else to go collect the phone for me?

Yep. And I imagine that separating the MagSafe Charger from the phone will be a two hand job, so why not just use the cable? I'll use a QI charger: it might be slower, but it's fine for overnight changing, and can place and lift off one handed.

I’ve got the new case for my phone and the charger and it’s easy enough to slide the charger off with one hand. Rather than pulling it off the phone, you push it to one side and it slides off nice and easy. The soft silicone pad on the charger means no marks are left on the case as well.

Pics please

Historically they've requested photo ID to pickup. I'd call Apple and see what they say.

Received this beauty a couple of minutes ago for my blue 12 pro.
Was thinking initially to return it for the leather one, but probably I’ll keep it.
How come did they manage to deliver today, they posted last night!

I love this colour, I might even change from Gold to Graphite for it. What colour is it? - Thanks

National Lockdown Update for Wales impacting the Cardiff store. Lockdown starts Friday 23rd at 6pm and is in place until Monday 9th November. All non essential retail will close, same as with the UK lockdown back in March. So better pick up your phones before 6pm and if booked for weekend collection better check with Apple for arranging something for Friday if possible.

Yep you can! There should be instructions either on your confirmation email or on the Apple site with regards to other people picking up on your behalf. From memory I believe you need to contact them and tell them who it will be, and the designated person must take ID with them to prove they are who they say they are.

Amazon now showing stock again, but now at the correct prices and for delivery on the 23rd instead of the 24th.. Not sure what this means, if anything.

No cancellation email and my order showing the 849 price...maybe we got lucky? If we don't receive the cancellation email today, I assume its going ahead?

Ok, so regarding EE - I know there have been numerous posts over the past 10 pages or so from people saying they have managed to get deals from £16 - £20 a month for 100GB/200GB and even unlimited GB but I was initially switched from my sim only £22 a month 4G with 20GB to just £18 a month with 20gb, which was still pretty naff......

Just been speaking to Live Chat and they have now offered me £20 a month 5G with 100GB (still not as good as some but hey ho!) - they wouldn't budge on this so I guess its one better than what I was on before!!!

Sound sensible.

leave it a day or 2 if it’s been taken out and see if they can offer any loyalty discount

It appears that my information may be out of date.

The law, as I understood it, was that a binding contract had been formed once payment is accepted by the retailer. That contract must then be honoured.

It seems, however, that this definition was updated with the Consumer Rights Act in 2015. Although online stores were previously bound to the Sale of Goods Act 1979 and the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982, the 2015 Act seems to have modified the definition of when a contract is formed, probably with online shopping in mind, thus meaning that even taking payment does not necessarily form a contract.

It is a moot point regardless as I find it incredibly unlikely that Amazon would take payment and then refuse to honour the advertised price. If they’re going to cancel these orders, I’m sure they’ll do it before taking payment.

You are correct, but payment still had to occur (not just as a holding charge for example). Which in turn means dispatch as that is generally how online sites bill people, but I suppose it is a greyer area with these pre-orders as I am not sure if anyone's card has actually been charged yet? (Open to the floor?)

Yes on the acts quoted, pretty much every act was superseded by the CRA as it was essentially messy, Sale of Goods still applies to B2B transactions. It's also known that CRA was brought in and heavily backed by a certain former Liberal Democrat leader with online shopping in mind!

In-course Moots were always one of my favourites! They will have to before dispatch, as you say. No good changing the price after everyone has been billed and posted to.

Best I was offered was £20 p/m for 100GB. Initially I was offered £18 p/m for 20GB. Didn’t take the offer as I’ll be within my last month of contract from Wednesday. Hopefully they can provide something in line with what others on this forum have been getting when I request my PAC code.

...same - they wouldn't budge on that with me neither!

Yes confirmed by the First Minister Mark Drakeford at a press conference just finished. National lockdown in Wales comes in from Friday. Apple is classed as non essential retail as are all retailers not selling food or medicines and is therefore legally required to close from 6pm on Friday as with all non essential retail and hospitality etc Obviously being Wales this only impacts the Cardiff store.
