12 mini starts at £699
12 starts at £799
12 Pro starts at £999
12 Pro Max starts at £1099

I’m actually amazed that the top tier iPhone is just £1099 considering 2 years ago, my iPhone XS was in excess of £1200 from Apple‘s website!! I think you lot got off lightly this year!

£49 for a MagSafe silicon case is eye watering

I really don’t understand how those MagSafes are gonna work - are they expecting people to place the credit cards inside the case and then attach the whole thing (phone and safe) to a magnet in order to charge?! Everybody knows what magnets do to credit/debit cards......

Re battery life on the new models...

12 Pro Max seems to have the same battery life as the 11 Pro Max
12 Pro very similar battery life to the 11 Pro, 1 hour extra video playback
12 very similar battery life to the 11, 1 hour extra video playback
12 mini seems to have a considerably smaller battery than the 11

How that all turns out in the 'real world' I don't know but at a guess it looks like in general battery life is very similar to the equivalent models last year except for the mini which seems to be noticeably worse.

In respect to UK 5G looking at apples website it looks like:

3400MHz (All providers apart from Three)- Not suported
Three apparently have 3600MHz-4000MHz- 3600MHz supported.

That's assuming the information on the below websites are up to date and correct.

For the iPhone 12 (not Pro) I’m getting £260 trade in value for my iPhone XS which gives a monthly total of around £22 a month for 2 years or around £530 outright.

At these prices, I may very well be tempted seeing that this is actually LESS than what I was gonna pay for the 2020 iPad Air (which would now have to wait!).

😀

Does this mean Three are the only network that will support 5G on the 12 until early next year when the other spectrums are auctioned?

I think it's more a case of what magnets used to do to them.

The magnetic strip is a lot less of an issue these days, and I don't think magnets affect the chip.

Don't put your hotel key in there though.

Edit: In the description on the store is says "The leather wallet is shielded so it's safe for credit cards". I assume that means they don't think it will affect the magnetic strip, but I'm not sure I'd trust that.

I can’t decide between 12 6.1 or Pro 6.1!!! seems the main benefit of Pro is the super camera...

I'm in the same boat...trying to justify the extra £200. The Pro definitely looks more premium with the stainless steel and more 'grown up' colours, and the camera seems considerably better. They're exactly the same size though. The 12 will still have a fantastic camera. Think I've just convinced myself to go for the 12.

No the way I understand it the iPhone 12 supports all UK 5G networks, including Three. Three have additional frequencies that the iPhone 12 won't support.

I'm surprised I'm saying this but seriously considering the 12. Glad there's a 128GB option for £50 more as 64GB isn't enough for me now.

Question...

As someone who has never pre-ordered when pre-orders open before...

Are you told an expected delivery date before you complete your order? I wouldn't want to place an order hoping/expecting it to be delivered on release day only to then get a receipt telling me it's going to be a week late.
