Any news on people’s deliveries for those that couldn’t get it early. Have the estimated shipping times been accurate ? Or have they slipped/come forward?

Heard about the discounts too, but haven’t been able to add my student code at all.
Tried online (different browsers), over the phone (was told because it’s an offer, I can’t add the code), and can’t seem to get through to chat, always getting an error... frustrating
Yes it wouldn’t let me add the code online. Live chat told me it couldn’t be added due to already being discounted. But I rang and the guy I spoke to never queried it, just added the code.

Strange how it boils down to pure luck who you get on the other end of the line...

My wife ordered a 12 pro max on the 14th and was given a December 7th delivery date, which she was fine with. However it arrived today, 9 days ahead of schedule.

That’s lucky, I’ve got a delivery date of Dec 10th, so far no sign of that arriving any sooner. Not that I mind, it’s my own fault for waiting so long to order - after my, no I’m not, yes I am, no I’m not cycle of deciding if I wanted one :D

Take no notice of that date or the update info from Apple..... I had a delivery date of Dec 2nd, yet my 12 Pro Max arrived on the 26th Nov and nothing was received from Apple. First indication I got was an email from the courier informing me they would deliver tomorrow (26th Nov).

Ok guys convince me to upgrade from my 11 pro max to the 12 pro max. I’m thinking of graphite for a change.

That’s exactly why my order went in so late for a change, instead of in day one.

Honestly, I think most people will be perfectly happy staying on the 11’s. For me it was 1. The new design, ultimately couldn’t resist that. 2. The LIDAR scanner, which I’ll have fun with as a consumer, and as a dev, I can think of some good uses. 3. The cameras. Specifically the larger sensor, better OIS (in my opinion) and better low light performance. Along with Apple ProRAW and Dolby vision recording.

Oh, and I like the idea of MagSafe, so I won’t wake up to a half charged phone every now and then.

It’s nothing particularly revolutionary, but for me it added up to enough to upgrade form my 11 PM.

I do like the idea of MagSafe and the camera improvements are always welcome. I stopped using wireless charging because it was a PITA to make sure it was properly aligned after taking it off the charger in the night to check on something. So I really like that. The camera upgrades look nice but don’t seem to be that substantial.

However this year It’s not been a definite upgrade.

cameras are certainly improved in basically all areas and video is great but in the current times maybe not as big of an issue. think it's harder and harder to justify to upgrade for most people. Maybe wait next year for pro motion, maybe Touch ID

your 11 pro max is still great and lets face it you will still use it the same way as pro max given the IOS 14 features are still there on older devices.

I do like the bigger screen and new design though.

I’ve heard it’s like a Retina display, once you’ve seen it, you can never go back. So I’m going to avoid looking at any 120 Hz phones til it’s time to upgrade..😄
Yeah I heard that too.

But I had 120 Hz ProMotion display on my 2017 iPad Pro 10.5, and now don’t have it on my 2020 iPad Air - and I don’t miss it at all, or even notice TBQHWY

Granted that’s onlbased on my own personal use cases - YMMV.

i upgraded from 11 Pro to 12 Pro Max and really pleased I did. Though the camera improvements and desire to try a max size were biggest drivers for me. I wasn’t sure when i ordered if I’d keep it as last time I had a max was the 7 plus and I was glad to drop back down in size. This time am lovingthe extra screen and especially the camera improvements. Low light photos are really impressive. Oh yeah and the gold is gorgeous so I’d recommend that over graphite.

I hunted around for unlocked SIM free deals for 12 Pro 128GB all weekend, hoping to get a sniff of a Black Friday / Cyber Monday offer. Nothing going on that front and stock very limited everywhere. Ended up ordering from Apple direct for delivery between 15-22 December, 1 Pacific Blue and 1 Silver Pro. Xmas upgrades for me and Mrs interbear, our XRs will be handed down to the kids.

Looks cheap and nasty to me. Not to mention ridiculously overpriced.

Yeah crazy how Apple can justify charging that much.

Still waiting on belkins 3-1 effort which is still due ‘winter 2020’. But that’s going to be £149!

My AirUnleashed is rubbish,
Wake up on many occasions and the phone is nearly dead as it wasn’t quite aligned right or was knocked.

I’m confident that the Belkin, whilst expensive, will be a solidly built and reliable piece of quality kit.

it’s just a pity that they can’t release it sooner.
