Got the phone hearted on the apple store, payment method updated and all ready tomorrow to preorder.

I don’t think favouriting it will matter this year. On the Apple store app, the ‘for you’ tab already has a placeholder for your preorder.

I’m thinking that will link straight into your chosen device here it currently just shows

Don’t hold me on any of this!

Lol compared to what I got this is much better, are you out of contract?
I had quite a while left on my contract but I didn’t have 5G. I was already paying £16 for 60gb a month, went on live chat and said I want 5G. After some haggling, he gave me 100gb for £16 and then when I went to the app, I see it’s 200gb.

Hi guys. I am on the iPhone upgrade programme and want to upgrade to an iPhone 12 Pro Max. Am I right in thinking I won't be able to order that tomorrow?

Not relevant to your question (well kinda) but it might even be worth doing a separate order on accessories if you have access to corporate pricing. Should get 10% off (checked just now and it's showing them discounted at least for now).

The Barclays pre-order is only via the Apple store app, whilst corporate pricing is only available via the Apple website.
I will definitely be ordering a case but may hold off until the new year for the MagSafe charger.

Anyone know how the orders for the accessories will work?

Come 1pm tomorrow, all those using the Barclays 0% deal will be adding their phones to their baskets and checking out for delivery/collection. But - you can’t add accessories to the Barclays deal as it’s ONLY for the handset. So, do we need to create 2 baskets - one for the handset and one for any accessories?!

Do a separate order for accessoeies

Wondering if I should order on launch day from Currys. I get the 8% off egift cards via Edenred and bought my series 5 watch and mini iPad 4 using it with no issues. Also used it to buy the Mrs 11 Pro last Christmas. Always a chance Currys won't have many on launch date but I could wait. I'd be looking at a saving of £95.92 on the 12 Pro Max 256GB, enough to pick up a case and mag safe charger.

No brainer if you ask me.

Not been here since the launch of the iPhone X... skipped the XS & 11 Pro phones as they didn’t offer anything apart from small incremental updates. Really thought this would be the year I would grab a new iPhone, but... is anybody else just underwhelmed?

I was hoping for 120hz, or TouchID on the home button (seeing as we’ll all be wearing masks for the foreseeable). Just something more than just the usual refinements of better CPU, GPU, cameras... it’s the same every year.

I like the design, and sure the bump in specs are bound to be noticeable. But at £800 to £1000... really? And 5G is a joke in the UK and will be for a while yet.

I considered jumping to a Note 20 or S20, but so into the apple ecosystem that it wouldn’t be a good move in the long run.

Am I missing something? Convince me guys!
I got the first iPhone in 2007 and have had pretty much every one up until last year. Feeling underwhelmed at the iPhone 11 I decided to sell my X and move to Samsung (Note 10+ 5G). 12 months later, here I am awaiting pre-orders for the 12. I was tempted to the dark side. It was ’ok’. If it wasn’t for Google integration (photos, maps etc) between iOS and Android I would have come home after a couple of months.

So pumped for the 12 and so happy to be home. Never again. Sorry Tim, sorry Steve

Hadn't even thought of getting a MagSafe charger until now.. I've paid no interest in wireless charges since they came out (not that I don't like them its just never been something ive read up on properly)

I have a standard Belkin charging pad at the moment which I only ever use at night as it must take 5 hours or so to fully charge the phone so I find it to be useless during the day, putting the phone on/off it for 5 minutes or so which will do nothing to the battery when I can just plug it into the fast charger for 20 minutes and get almost half a battery.

Long story short.. how much better/faster is the MagSafe charger compared? (again considering I know nothing about wireless charging in terms of power..)

Main reason being is that for £39 it seems a good buy (considering when they announced it I expected it to be 100+ with it being apple..) I'd like a charger I can have on my work desk that when my phone is on it for 10/20 minutes it actually gives it a decent bit of charge

At 15w it will be a lot faster than those old iPhone plugs they used to provide

Anyone know if NHS employees can get a discount on these? I signed up for the Health Service Discounts account with my NHS email address but it is still showing the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro at full price, with a slight discount on the 11 (£586.80 vs £599). Is it normal for the newest models not to be discounted?

Thanks

my BlueLightCard doesn’t allow discounts on the 12

Seems like you got a good deal, I am on the old Max plan 30gb unlimited texts and mins for £21.86. Been out of contract for 2 years but haven't upgraded as didn't want to lose my America and Canada roaming but I guess I can still get this with the swappable benefit. Will try live chat tomorrow
This is me 100% - don't want to lose the US roaming :)

Any price difference? new contract?

....but the accessories are not available to order until tomorrow so you can’t add them to your basket until 1pm.
