One will do a hard credit check on you (too many hard searches affect your rating) and one wont (as you already have the card I presume?)
Pretty much this. CC already has granted credit facility.
I guess plus repayment terms will be different.

Considering all reputable retailers have sold out for the first batch of preorders for 22nd, I find it hard to believes CPW can fulfil these orders still for the 22nd on all variants…
i think carriers have enough but getting hold of them is the hard bit

Managed to get release day PM 256GB in Natural, just counting down the days until collection.

Will collect in the morning, restore from back up during the day then take the phone into store to complete the trade in

What did you say you were calling about? I can't even get on hold, it says they can't take my call and hangs up.

I called 0800 048 0408 and when I got to that stupid I understand full sentences so tell me what you want part, I just said “I’m trying to buy an iPhone, but all payment cards are declined”.
The creepy AI woman told me she’d put me through to a sales person and I was on hold for an hour.

I remember Apple Pay issues in previous years due to some banks having a limit and switched to my credit card and I have a pending on my Barclaycard, so should be fine.

Does anyone know if there's an advantage by buying with a 0% interest credit card or with the 0% interest Barclays finance? Or is there no difference?
Assuming you already have a 0% interest credit card with a long interest-free period:

Main advantage with the 0% interest card is you're in more control over the repayments. So one month, you may only want to pay the statement minimum, whereas another month you may want to pay much more. So long as you're fully paid up by the time the interest-free period runs out, then you're good. One needs financial self-discipline for this approach!

Compare this with the Barclays financing, where it's a set amount each month. Making additional payments does not reduce future monthly amounts - it only shortens the repayment period.

Barclays is over 24 months, whereas the 0% credit card is whatever interest-free period you've managed to obtain. Recent searches I've done for myself show very few offers longer than 16-20 months, with most options at 9-12 months. I compare this to several years ago when I was inundated with 25 - 28 month options.

Barclays will do a hard search, whereas your existing 0% card will have already had a search done against it when taking it out initially. If it's a new card, then both Barclays and the new card application will incur a hard search.

A Question:

I have managed to place an order for my preferred model (15PM/256/Nat) & with Barclays approval but with a deferred pick up date which I cannot manage as I will be away.

The only option I can now see displayed is to cancel, but I would prefer to postpone collection for six weeks (or preferably advance it to 22nd) - can that be done & how should I proceed.

If all fails, I'll cancel.

Well that was an absolute shambles, never had a problem before this was the worst experience I’ve had!

I had the app up on my phone and iPad plus the website gets on the app at about 1:06, went through my pre pre order pressed confirm pay and all I got was the spinning loading circle for ages and then I was timed out. After that I just kept getting error messages on everything else I tried, wouldn’t load my pre orders, wouldn‘t let me create a new order, then couldn’t connect to the App Store. 😫

At about 1:30 I managed on the website, originally wanted a White 256gb PM but the delivery dates had slipped to when I’m not here and none available for pick ups so I ended up getting a Black 512gb PM that I can pick up from Meadowhall on the 22nd. I’ve got a watch coming on the 22nd too so my other half will stay in for that.

I thought I’d have a good chance getting the white judging by the poll. 🙄

Can anyone refresh my memory about what happens the day before pick ups? Do we get a notification saying it’s dispatched or already there? I usually just get delivery.
