Add me to the "Complete Farce" camp. It's been a few years since I last ordered a phone on pre-order day but today has taken the proverbial.

Like everyone else I did the pre-pre-order last night, but upon opening the app at lunchtime that failed and I had to place a new order.

The app then kept crashing but ultimately let me make and authorise a payment on my debit card.

Later that day I received a text from my bank's fraud team asking if I'd made another payment and saw a second order confirmation for a duplicate order. Knowing I didn't have the money in that account I replied no (thinking it'd just cancel the second payment and I'd cancel the order with Apple) but to my dismay I found that it had cancelled my first order too. Upon trying to re-pay it said the card was declined.

A quick call to the bank said that VISA had flagged fraud and that my card had been exposed and was now blocked and that I had to request a new card.

I then tried to update the payment method to my credit card and Apple's site wouldn't connect to the bank's authorisation portal which upon closing the tab prompted another text from the fraud team. After saying it was me and a call to establish that the car wasn't blocked, I decided to forfeit my original order and place a fresh once which at time of posting appears to have got through.

Delivery date has slipped to 3-9th Oct, but truth be told I've run my iPhone 7 since launch so I can last another few weeks.

More annoyed that I've now got to wait for a new bank card and have to update all my payment methods :mad:

It would have been for sure. Whoever owns a 14 Pro Max doesn’t really NEED the 15 Pro Max, it’s more of splurge but I realised it’s way too much headache for me today to constantly keep trying and then on top the USB C would have actually created problems for me with all the lightning cables and accessories I have lying around everywhere starting with my house to the car and to my office. Way too many to actually change.

Everyone worrying about launch day collection who hasn’t got one. Starting around 5:30-6am Friday morning next week go to the reservations page for iUP there will be phones you can reserve for the iPhone upgrade programme. Then when you get there you can pay in full or do normal 24 months finance.
 
Did you get asked to upload a copy of your driving licence and a selfie? If so have you done that last step?

Last time I applied I had to complete this step and after that everything went fully through.
No, I haven’t heard from them.

both orders now cancelled. £1830 gone. **** you.
You could have updated your payment in the next day or so, and you still would have kept your delivery slot.

I have nhs 20 percent codes that dont seem to work for online upgrades but I always get the advisor to apply them I’ve rather phone , you can just complain and they will do it **
I've copied the code, could you Delete or edit the comment please?
 
My in store phone pick up still says “we’ve received your order”

My watch which I ordered Wednesday has just changed to ”preparing to dispatch“
