Question for those that have used MM for trade in. They have received the iPhone 13 Pro Max and 14 Pro Max I sent them this morning.

The site updated to show them as received but their status showing as awaiting.

The 14 changed to accepted earlier and the 13 just now.

Does that mean they’ve been checked and the value is being honoured?

It’s been a while since I sent them via post. So can’t remember.

Did anyone else doing an in-store pickup not get asked for ID? I picked up my 15 Pro Max on Friday and turned back home 10 minutes into my journey to the Apple store because I'd forgotten my ID but when I got to the store to do the pickup they never asked me for it - they did ask the guy in front of me though. I also picked up a Series 9 watch the day after (Saturday) and they never asked me for my ID then either? I had the pickup QR code loaded into my wallet in both cases.

Maybe if the sales person is dealing with someone with the QR code for the pickup on their Apple device they assume it's been biometrically unlocked to display the code and that is ID enough or is it a failure of some sales staff to follow the procedures to the letter?

The instructions that come with the "Your pickup is ready" email does say to bring ID. I would hope that if someone just printed out the email or came in with their order number scribbled on a bit of paper Apple would be more strict? Does anyone know if Apple sales staff are instructed to check all IDs or only the ones that come in without the collection QR code?

I'm in the UK obviously since I'm posting my experience on this thread.

Same for me on Friday. The few before me all had their ID checked where as I was never asked for mine. I was served by the same member of staff that was asking to see others ID though. Not sure why some are and others not..

Hey everyone! Are any of you guys having any issues with your 15 promax? A friend of mine got his on Friday, and he was telling me, that whenever he makes a FaceTime call, it gets really hot, and the battery drains really quickly! He said he has been doing some googling, and it is all over Google? People seem to think that the processes are too fast for these phones? He is totally blind like me, so has his brightness on zero, auto brightness off, always on display off, background app refresh off. But he said it is just draining like crazy! Not good for a brand-new phone! And he uses FaceTime audio, not video.
I put my phone on a MagSafe charger for a video call and the battery was still going down. I checked later and found FaceTime video effects were enabled, not sure if disabling this will help.

Also wasn’t asked for ID, I joked with the sales man and he said nah we don’t need it we’re just giving them away today 😂

Same here. They didn’t ask for the QR code or ID. Was only asked my name and what I was collecting, even though I had passport and driving licence on me. First time that’s happened.

This also happened to me on EE unfortunately.
Tried to set up my phone last night and was unable to transfer esim over.
So was without a phone until I could visit my local EE store this morning to pick up a new physical sim.
Very frustrsting indeed.
I think with EE you have to go to the app, or your web account, and they'll be an option to do it there. I'm guessing it's just O2 that can't play ball. I'm transferring to EE.

I mean anyone can screenshot a QR code and send it anywhere. They 100% should be checking ID. I had mine in my apple wallet and was swiftly asked for ID after.

You only got offered £168 for that? I see a few marks but nothing major. Maybe UR - I’ve seen a few people on here have used them?
Thanks might try them. There’s a few marks on the side fairly subtle though, it’s a pity as it’s been in the apple clear case all year must be dust or sand

Ebay is a roll of the dice. They ALWAYS side with the buyer so any lies they spin are believed.

Having initially not been able to read the IMEI number, MM kiosk downgraded my phone condition of excellent to poor, it’s been in a case and barely a mark on it a few little spots on the SS sides and that’s it. Probably better condition than the one I sold last year which sailed through.
The kiosk cameras may need a quick clean. I’d try another kiosk
