iPhone 15 Pro arrived and all set up :)

The worst bit was setting up all the things that use my phone for multi factor authentication - Banking app, cards in Wallet, Microsoft authenticator, Google authenticator, work authenticator, etc. etc.

The easiest bit was the SIM. Remove from old iPhoneX. Insert into new iPhone 15. Done :)

Not sure how it’s being done, but it’s been reported many times with high value items and Amazon. There were loads of reports of it when the PS5 was launched, and similar stories are a regular feature in the consumer finance press.
Maybe the thief at the warehouse could get an accomplice to order ‘some crap’ and have it sent to an Amazon locker. The shipping labels of the iPhone and ‘some crap’ are switched over, so the legit customer receives the box of crap and the iPhone gets picked up at the locker by accomplice.

I do wonder how quickly the batteries in these phones will degrade overtime? Put mine on charge earlier on, and was just having a look in the battery settings, and it said it paused charging for 20 minutes, as the battery was too hot. It’s good but it was able to tell that, but with the battery getting too hot? And that was with just using the standard cable that came in the box? I’m a bit worried here!

I'd say it's quite normal considering the phone has only came out three days ago. It's probably still indexing a lot of files/restoring from your old phone etc. I wouldn't worry too much about it :)

Yeah the authenticator and banking apps were the slowest for me too, but I didn't mind an hour or so of that for at least two years use. Enjoy your phone. :)

Mine arrived today as well.

It’s still restoring from my iCloud back up which is taking ages. I download a new eSIM from the EE app. Funny that for Microsoft Authenticator I had to go through the recovery process. I’m pretty sure last time it automatically transferred - not sure if it’s because I didn’t directly transfer from my old phone

I also installed the ESR 14 Pro Max Screen protector - it’s not perfect but its not actually that bad so I don’t know if I’ll bother getting the 15 version.

MM have been a ****e show this year it seems

I was really worried that would be the case after following all the threads.

My iPhone 14 Pro Max 128GB arrived with them yesterday and they’ve paid out the £755 I locked in beginning of August.

They also honoured the £600 for the iPhone 13 Pro Max 128GB I sent them as well.

I was so stressed they would downgrade the pricing for both as they both had a tiny tiny nick in the frames everything else though was immaculate.

Just don’t understand the logic being applied, or it comes down to luck of the draw on the member of staff carrying out the assessment and how rigid they are to following a process.

Either way I’m over the moon as my upgrade only cost me £444 this year!

Think I want to exchange my finewoven case for a silicone, can you do this in store and they refund the difference? I’d rather just do a swap than refund and re-purchase if that makes sense?

Just secured the second iPhone, this time 15PM 1TB - I had no choice!!! Really wanted the 256GB one but needed a phone this week as I missed the pre-order slot. Oh well. Guess I will not need iCloud.

My 256GB 15PM in natural titanium arrived early this morning (the 25th) even though I had a 27th-2nd slot.

It's early days, but so far it seems a significant enough upgrade from my 12PM.

With it's Clay silicone case on, under bright daylight...

That must be REALLY bright light, as this is my Clay and Winter Blue under normal natural light.

Question for the folks who had DPD deliveries…

I had a Despatched email earlier and when I click the tracking link, it opens a DPD link that doesn’t do anything.

When did your DPD tracking become live?

I’ve had that happen a few times recently with my 14 Pro Max and with my 15 Pro Max right after the initial set up. It hasn’t happened since with the 15 Pro Max and I’m hoping it’s not a reoccurring problem.

Apologies for double posting - excitement, fatigue, and frustration got the better of me. WFH means I had my Mac on the table, distracting me from work, refreshing the store page every minute or so in hopes of finding a nearby in-store availability. How stupid of me to think I'll be able to grab a phone last Saturday. This whole process consumed my entire evening yesterday and nearly all of today.

Managed to secure the 15P 256GB for my other half during the day and approx. 15mins ago managed to finally grab one for myself, albeit reluctantly opting for the 1TB model - a decision that felt almost compelled upon me, in a comical way.

Was astonishing to see the speed at which these phones sold out - how fast do folks checkout? The 1TB variants stayed up for sale for a good 10mins before vanishing. In contrast, the 128GB/256GB 15P vanished almost instantly. Despite my willingness to travel to London, I failed twice to secure the 256GB 15PM, as they were snapped up before I could finalise the checkout.

In any case, this is my first step back into the iPhone ecosystem since the iPhone 5, and it's certainly a substantial upgrade for someone who has always been with Samsungs; sold my Z Fold 4 512GB that I paid £1800, a device that after 7 months was on sale for £800 on eBay. Sold my earbuds, Samsung watch and bought everything Apple.

Heard that Apple cases are not that good and too expensive? I bought some Spine cases as always had Spigen, but will have a look at these cases in store tomorrow. Can someone please recommend me a good case? I already bought Spigen cases for both phones. This one, in matte black: https://www.spigen.com/products/iphone-15-pro-max-case-ultra-hybrid

So can’t exchange and refund the difference?
No, and why would they? The simplest thing is to refund you your current item under the 14 day return. Then you do what you want to do afterwards. Even when I wanted to change one silicone case colour to another, they refunded and repurchased.

Ermmmm because they want my business perhaps?

Have you never returned something and exchanged for something cheaper and they refund the difference? You’d think I’m asking for it for free by the tone of your reply!
