I've been reading through EE pre-order thread and it seems to have been a nightmare for most as usual. People being promised multiple times launch day deliveries and then being told stock issues on the day of release. How they balls it up each and every year is impressive but at least they're consistent. lol

CS are there to sit and take orders and sell the world, they will have no way of knowing stock levels (obviously)

I don’t understand why there isn’t some sort of allocation software system, surely EE know exactly how many they ordered as a shipment, which is probably already sitting in their own warehouse / stock checked.

DPD notification 12.21-13.21!

Ordered from EE on the 19th at 9.15pm and was promised launch day delivery but one day late isn’t that bad! :)

Hope it all comes in one piece as last year I got random Chinese junk in the box from Amazon UK and getting a refund was painful.

Apple must deliberately hold stock back every year. It is always the Pro Max you just can’t get. I am sure they could get enough out there for demand if they looked at their statistics each year. It’s a bit like the way they take the store down for events/launches - I can’t think of any other company which does that they just update it live. Very annoying, especially when you want to give them money for something!

I don’t understand that either. As you say no other company does that. I can’t think of any acceptable or logical reason why they would do that. It must be particularly annoying for those who want to access their site for other reasons. 🤔

Pro Max’s are hard to find any time soon but Curry’s have a host of Pros .. I ordered one yesterday evening and it’s arriving today (yup, I’m desperate and paid to have it today!). I still have my Apple order (7-14th Oct) live for my ProMax so I’ll have a good look at the Pro and then decide.

I picked up my White Titanium Pro Max yesterday from the Brent Cross Apple Store. There was a long queue but it was moving quickly. I got there at about 5.30pm and my pickup window was 6.00-6.15pm. I asked one of assistants if I could pick it up earlier but they were pretty strict and said to come back and join the queue at 6.00pm.They did check me in while waiting in the queue so the process was seamless and quick. I was out of there by 6.10pm.

I had brought my Torras screen protector with me as there is a kiosk there that sells cases and screen protectors as well as providing a service to put protectors on but didn’t have time to have it done so I’m back again today for that. They charge £5 to put your own protector on. I can never do a good job so I’m happy to pay that. They always do an excellent job. 😃👍

The only thing I could think is that the demand profile for pro maxes is exceptionally front loaded so they want to smooth out the demand on the production line a bit more for cost reason
