Anyone know about Carphone charging policy. Went from pending to charge this morning when they originally stated a 10/11 delivery. I thought they only charged on allocation?

No idea to be honest. My card was also charged this morning for a 3rd collection date, however I’m fully expecting it to be somewhat delayed and end up cancelling. They clearly have no idea how much stock they will actually be getting and this shows in mixed messages to customers. Until Wednesday/Thursday I don’t think you will be any clearer with CPW orders.

Surely that's more to do with your workplace than UK Mail, where does it say Goods In for your place, I bet delivery companies get this all the time where it specifies Reception and they then get told to go to Goods In so they go there automatically.

Fair point, it's certainly compounded by the shambolic 'goods in' process here, most delivery companies go to reception by default but some end up going round the back to the warehouse.

Exactly same issues as mine
So its not Lloyds fobbing me off really as I tried several different cards. It is something to do with apple failing on us.
I strongly suspect in most cases it is the banks fobbing people off - they are unlikely to ever divulge their specific security practices (and certainly not details on specific limits if any). The skeptic in me says that it is in fact in the banks interests to make Apple Pay as inconvenient as possible for end users. Legacy banks don't like Apple Pay because they want full control, and Apple Pay doesn't give them that.

Pre-ordered an X, got an email last night that my (Apple Pay) payment was declined by NatWest. Just called NatWest to get my card unblocked (again again again. This is a recurring issue for me, they seem to think my online spending habits are fraud every few months), but I can't get the transaction to re-authorise through apple.com, so I guess I'm calling Apple at 8am. grrrrr banks.

Edit: Called Apple, lovely chap helped me out and I'm all set for Friday pickup :D
I have the same issues almost monthly with NatWest - you'd have thought their security systems would learn and adapt, but they don't, and you can't even forewarn them about a purchase which may potentially trigger their systems so that they can flag it in advance.

I had similar issues Friday morning with Apple Pay though. My initial transaction was approved (Starling Bank), but then I got a declined transaction notification from Starling about 20 minutes later due to triggering a security alert.
There was clearly an issue with things Apple's end because when going online later to change/retry the payment, they were continually trying to make £0 transactions and then instantly reverse them (thanks to Starlings helpful notifications which showed what was happening). Attempting to use other cards all failed with a mixture of declines, and "unable to process transaction" errors.

It eventually took two separate calls to Apple to get a payment method to actually work (ironically NatWest), and they seemed to know that there had been some problems with Apple Pay related transactions.

Just rang apple
They addmitted its their fault and some apple pay problem.
Took the payment over the phone no issues.
Job done collection firday

Any EE pre-orderers had any sort of order confirmation yet? All my order shows is ‘awaiting confirmation’.

Ok, here is what happened to me. Spent 40 mins on Friday trying to order online as an additional line. Got email at 8:49 asking me to call them to confirm details. At 9:13 I had managed to get through to them and order completed, all set for 3rd Nov delivery. I have had no additional emails since then.

After checking my order email they’ve put down my Apple Watch number for updates (this number is used for billing purposes only so won’t get any texts). So I call up and ask to change the number, he said ok no problem, I ask if it will effect the order, he said no, then under his breath just said I need to re-order, I said you mean a brand new order, he said yes, I said no.

Guess on this one I’m relying on phone calls and DPD app then.

When I track my order online it states that it is expected delivery on the 3rd.

I hope it’s rectified at apples end before they start charging for the delivery’s. I paid with Apple Pay on my credit card, been preparing for shipment since Friday , no issues or emails from Apple and my wallet status says approved. Worried this issue with us delivery lot could result in delyed shipment because they probably won’t ship the device till we fix it.

Another on HSBC where the money hasn't fully been taken from my account (although the gap between current balance is £1149), so just a waiting game I guess.

It sounds stupid, but I kinda wish that those of us getting deliveries on Friday hadn't have shifted to PFD so quickly, as it makes for a longer gap between order stages

I'm with HSBC and same thing here, missing £999 but not showing on statement yet.

Has anyone had their shipping date brought forward yet to the 3rd? If so, what was your date?

I agree. I wanted to change my shipping address after placing my order. Thought I'd have a couple of days to do it based on orders in the past so I got on with my day on Friday. Went to change it late in the afternoon and it was already PFD and neither myself or Apple Support could do anything about the deliver address.

I did not manage to get in the store until 08:05, refreshing my PC web browser and re-opening the iPad and iPhone apps.

Once I got in, at the PC browser, I managed to get to the iPhone Upgrade Programme page and reserved successfully an iPhone X 256GB Space Gray.
I immediately went on again to look at the availability (because I did not really pay attention to the shops list, I just selected the one I wanted to quickly confirm everything) and they had stopped taking reservations for the iPhone Upgrade Programme at 08:09! What can I say... I must have been one of the last reservations they accepted. :D

Collecting on Friday 3rd November :)
But no way to track where the device is. Probably somewhere on route.

Had issues ordering the 256GB on Friday but payment went through eventually. Then I received a call from M&S Bank last night asking if I had my card and if I used it pay apple products. Turns out that the 64GB at £999 got approved as M&S has set an Apple Pay limit at £1000. The 256GB is now paid as well though.

Still cant decide which one to take although I am starting to think 64GB + Apple Care is the more sensible option.

Looking forward to this week! :)

It's a massive gadget week for me and these arrivals:

1. iPhone X
2. Amazon Echo (2nd Gen release)
3. Google Home Mini
4. Belkin Wireless Charger Pad

My leather case has shipped to store! Collection tomorrow. I’ll be sure to take a few pictures when I’ve collected it.

I started a new thread on this but realised I may get a quicker answer here.

Is the type of credit check exactly the same regardless of if you're on the iUP already and upgrading vs if you're signing up for a fresh programme?

Lots of words but not sure how much it tells us that we didn't already know. Screen looks great; cameras work as expected; FaceID works as Apple said it would; new gestures and UI will take a bit of getting used-to.

Yes, the consensus is that its basically a new credit agreement you're taking out so will be the same as it was, albeit based on your credit score as it is today.
