Just got of the phone with Relations EE upgrading my old iPhone 6 to the iPhone XS 64GB Gold version for upfront cost £400 and £30 with 30gb data on EE 24 months the best I could do.
I have done well total cost £1150 two year and sell my iPhone 6 to my friend for £70.
The phone already cost sim free £999. that me sorted for another 4 years lol

That's a really good deal, I'm on an ee retention sim £19 maxplan per month 30gb unlimited everything inc usa and Canda roaming. I think they will kick me off when it ends as ee only now do max plans for pay monthly mobile phone customers

Whilst I reserved a silver 256GB XS and a silver 256GB XS Max, I'm pretty sure I'm going to decline the XS at the Birmingham store if anybody's desperate for a launch day unit?

Selling my 8 Plus 256GB for £539 to Musicmagpie and settled the £463 on my iPhone Upgrade Programme account with Barclays. Completely forgot that I would be due a refund for the balance of the unused AppleCare, which comes to £76!

£152 back to me in total vs the £0 I'd get from upgrading with the Upgrade Programme. Will either go towards a new case or a new AppleCare plan.

How do you settle the balance, do you have to call Barclays? Also, how long does it take to get the Apple care rebate back from them or do they deduct it form the amount due?

Should I order from carphone warehouse to guarantee delivery on launch day?
CPW when I have used them late in the day have served me well.
One word of caution about ordering from non-apple retailers - they will say recieve on 21st September but they will not know what quantity of stock they will recieve. This then sees people then start to see emails saying there orders are delayed due to supply constraints. Wish they would make this clear when pre-ordering. In saying this, it does appear though that this year a decent to good chance you can get one on launch day.

Apple will tell you it can take up to 15 days to get the refunded Apple care back. But I just got mine back in 3days.

I called Barclays Partner Finance on 0800 152 2888 and asked to settle the account - ironically, Barclaycard isn't accepted as a payment method!

You can get the AppleCare refund via two ways. You either settle the account in full and any money owed to you comes from Apple and goes to Barclays, who then refund directly back to your payment account. I was quoted up to 10 days for this to happen. The other way requires that you cancel AppleCare directly with Apple, who then refund Barclays and they accordingly reduce the amount you owe on the account.

I think there is a rule that you can’t pay off finance with credit. I remember being told this awhile ago when my debit card was lost and I wanted to pay a bill. X

To be fair most of my retention deals have always been off hotukdeals. its a matter of calling and hanging up until you get someone that takes a punt

Also, do CPW supplied iPhones still lock to the first SIM that is inserted?

It's very little to do with bargaining and far more to do with your account history. I have been Orange/EE for 15 years and my monthly spend has generally been high so I get good deals thrown at me. I got a sim only deal - £20p/m, 40gb, unlimited calls/texts for 12 months. Got the Xs 256GB unlocked from Apple and will shortly be selling my iphone 7. I get phone insurance for free via my bank and so all things considered it's a decent package.

My advice would be to speak with retentions at EE as it is their job to stop you from leaving.

I tried EE the other day. Been with them since 2013. I pay £20 for 25GB Sim only, which I think is not too shabby. Problem is that they probably know that EE is best with my Celular Apple Watch

I’m still on a 12 month SIM Max contract that ran out in February of this year, and EE have made no moves to take me off it. Not planning on changing from it until I have to!

I took out AppleCare plus last November. Any idea how much I’ll get back? I think this year it’s £200?

Can't understand why cellular calling isn't available from other carriers. I'm sure that stops sales for :apple: in the U.K.
