In order of best to worst delivery companies

1. DPD (Best)
2. UPS
3. Parcelforce (Royal Mail)
4. DHL (UK Mail)
5. Hermes
6. Yodel (worst ever)
Agree on the top two.

Parcelforce are a very, very distant bottom for me. No meaningful tracking. Inability to give them any instructions to follow and no shipment release option. Useless. Even my local Hermes guy is better.

DHL don’t appear have to be too bad of late, they seem to have upped their game a lot since they’ve re-entered the consumer market and taken over UK Mail.

UPS are always consistently good, although the tracking is lacklustre.

DPD are by far and away the best though - always turn up within their hourly slot and the inflight options and tracking can’t be beaten. I’m amazed after these years no other courier has got remotely close.

I’ll even make a point of ordering from companies who use DPD - even if I have to pay a little more for the item.

The worst thing about Hermes and Yodel is that I've had them show they've delivered late in the day, and they haven't, and they then deliver the following day
Yeah, that’s unfortunately a common shady practice but it’s born out of them overloading and placing unrealistic targets on the drivers. What usually happens is the driver marks it delivered - doesn’t have time to deliver it, and then delivers it first thing the next day. I’d much rather they were honest about this though.
If they had system like DPD which won’t let a driver scan/deliver an item unless they’re at the physical location the practice couldn't happen.

I too have been charged for the 256GB 5G 12.9 even though it says delivers 27th.

There are two scenarios where we are charged now:

1. It is arriving this week (what we wish for)
2. It is coming from China so needs EXTRA TIME for shipping

I personally am annoyed I’ve been charged unless it is shipped for delivery this week as I was planning to try and get one at an Apple store but I am not in a position to mess around with £1200 two times!

They’ll be delivered on Friday.

I think this is very optimistic. Although Apple do occasionally deliver faster than they say this iPad is a limited supply item and it is more likely it is coming directly from China (and this shipping sooner) than it’s going to turn up on Friday.

But clearly I hope I’m wrong!

No card charge for me yet but still 21-27. Though I have had an Apple Pencil delivered and they still haven’t charged me for that yet.

Nope, this should happen today though

In the meantime I’m looking forward to watching the reviews (popcorn ready)
i think some people will regret going for the mini led version. i suspect we'll see a lot of "should i cancel my 12.9 and get 11 instead?" posts ?
