Okay, weird. A Royal Mail van just turned up next door with what really looked like a shrinkwrapped iPad box (just out of range of my eyesight AND my iSight), left a card, and drove off.

I really hope TNT haven't subcontracted to Royal Mail drivers that confuse 12 and 14.

I just got in...my dads been in all morning, nothing arrived. Its out for delivery with UPS, im in Birmingham and is only coming from Tamworth. Then a Parcel Force van drew up, got me excited then realised it was a clothes package for my brother.

Still waiting for UPS here in Manchester city centre - reception are under strict instructions to let me know the minute a UPS man walks through the door!

Only 45 mins until lunch - I still hold out some hope that I'll have a new toy to play with whilst eating my sarnie.

London City won't allow you to pick up from the depot as they have 2,000 units there :D

Phoned London City this morning. Spoke to a guy in redeliveries who confirmed that my ipad was there and said I could come and collect it today. When I got there it was Ms Jobsworth on the desk, she told me that policy was that they had to attempt a home delivery first (apple's orders apparently) We argued back and forth for a while, my main arguement being what was the point of sending it to my house today when the knew I wasn't there......because I was standing in front of her desk...
Anyway, I had to resort to my best "angry posh voice" and asked to speak to the manager. She eventually backed down and said that they would make an exception in my case.

So, the upshot is.....I HAVE MY iPAD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't use it until I get home a sync though, this will be the longest day at work ever. I'm settling for gazing adoringly at it as it charges on my desk.

Thank you all for being as nuts as me !

I look forward to joining the "How much is everyone loving their iPad" thread.

Nothing here in Macclesfield yet. The TNT depot is in Stockport, only 30 minutes away, and it went out at 7 this morning.

Problem is I have a lunch appointment today! Oh noes!

I'm in Heald green near the Airport and mine is coming from Bredbury too.

I don't think so. The TNT orders all seem to be packed in Brown boxes, about double the size of the iPad box inside.

:(

I got the same thing.

At work at the moment but I will have my iPad today. If they don't deliver it I am going to pick it up, regardless of what they say.

Mine has arrived. Four separate packages. 1 iPad, 2 cases and a camera kit. A massive TNT van pulled up. Nice jovial chap said he was sick of them. Had a few there were the people wern't in and said he is under very strict instructions not to leave with anyone else.

I was at the door signing for the parcels when the nice UPS lady phoned to say I was the next stop on the driver's schedule!

Parcels now open. Oh, happy time:)

Yay! mine's just arrived:D- small white van - son said I should have got dressed to answer the door as I was still in pyjamas, told him I wasn't going to greet Royalty but then decided arrival of the ipad was much more special than that!:) He's not off to his exam for another hour and I have had to promise not to open it until he's left the house as he is doing last minute revision and does not want to be distracted!:( - Oh the anticipation!

Just realised the bread I was toasting for breakfast an hour ago is still in the toaster!!!
Definite brain meltdown here!:D

Hi neighbors from the north!

I've just got the ipad! Apple sent me yesterday the tracking for the shipment and less than 24h later here is my iPad right to me, so be confident, everyone is getting their iPad tomorrow for sure!

Just got my iPad!!!

My iPad has just been delivered. I'm writing this post with it!!!

I've been following the forum for weeks now but not posted.

On first impression it is superb. Hope you all get yours too soon.:)

My iPads just arrived in Newcastle, the man took it next door!!! I was like like  ran into garden nearly broke neck said is that not for me and he said what your door number i said 24 he said ohh I'm really sorry and delivery my iPad :D

How's this for torture: mine is definitely out for delivery... to my mother's UK address. I'm living in Holland. So once it arrives there I have to get her to send it on to me (it's not launching here until July).

So, could anyone lucky enough to have received theirs confirm how it is packaged? I've seen a few pix but want to check the weight/dimensions.

I'm relying on the main box being less than 2kg and, from a US posting, it seemed the dimensions were roughly 28x25x10 cm or 11x10x4 inches. Is that about right for UK deliveries too?

Also, looks like the SIM and any accessories are being sent separately. Is that the case?

Thanks!

the box that the ipad box itself came in was about 25 x 29 x 12 cm
i had another box that the dock, camera kit and sim came in which was about 19 x 13 x 9 cm, but i'm sure the way it is packaged varies.

from the packing list it said total weight (for both boxes) was 2.246 kg - don't have a good way to weigh the ipad box separately at the moment...
