samsung galaxy s4 leak

This morning, noted rumor purveyor Sam Mobile dropped a bomb on Samsung Galaxy S fans, with a report that allegedly contains the official specifications of the upcoming Galaxy S4. The shocker is that Samsung will supposedly not be using an Exynos processors nor an AMOLED display on their 2013 flagship.

Before we go any further, note that Sam Mobile claims that, while the information comes from a “trusted insider”, it’s not official. It wouldn’t be the first time tech sites are served fake info, so don’t take everything in this post at face value.
The leak

These are the alleged full specs of the Galaxy S4, that Sam Mobile claims it has received from their insider:

4.9-inch Full-HD SoLux Display
dance-smiley.gif

Snapdragon 600 1.9 Ghz
2 GB RAM
16, 32 or 64 GB
13MP camera
140,1 x 71,8 x 7.7mm
138 gram
Home button with touch buttons
Plastic back with aluminum sides
Removable battery
Black / White

What will apple (

) propose against it

Sam Mobile has a pretty good track record too. I'm sure there are plenty of "dummy" phones out in the wild but I can't wait to see the final design.

I agree. Perhaps the unofficial definition (Or that Samsung has classified) of a Phablet is something 5" and over, ergo, anything under 5" is categorised as a phone?

I think phablet was thrown on them. Not something they actually wanted haha.

I'm stoked for the phone. Hopefully they stepped up build quality and got rid of those AMOLED screens. Assuming Verizon gets it the same time as everyone else and not pulling bootloader tricks, Ill be picking one up.

Really looking forward to this.

I held back on the iPhone 5 as it didnt appeal to me at all. Quite a disappointment in my opinion.

Samsung have really pulled out all the stops on this.

Cant wait!

A lot of these people also say the 4S to 5 wasn't an upgrade.....

In my book a larger screen, higher res and faster internals DOES constitute a substantial upgrade - hence why I think the 4S to 5 was one and why I'm sure the GS3 to GS4 will be as well.

You also have to remember - with many posters on here, if you can't explicitly see it, it wasn't an upgrade (unless its NFC or wireless charging....two relatively gimmicky features). People tend not to think about the actual technology that went into making a phone as thin as it is or the display as accurate as it is.....which is surprising considering we're on a tech blog.

Unlike some, I don't expect a reinvention of the wheel every time a new smartphone is released....though I do think something big will be coming in the next couple of years.

I still use my 3GS, believing 4, 4s and 5 were not substantial upgrades...

No way it will be a "minor" upgrade - this is Samsung's moment, and they will go all out to impress.

IS the Galaxy S4 even needed in todays market? The Galaxy S3 is plenty powerful and the screen is crystal clear. The only addition I think, which goes for all phones these days is battery life. A mobile phone with dual or triple battery packs would be icing on the cake.

EDIT: What I meant to say was, the current range of mobile phones are powerful enough, we need additional battery life on these things. Telstra currently has the S4 within Telstra.

So in other words, Samsung should just stop making phones after the Galaxy S3, and just call it a day? Gotcha, makes sense. Apparently the iPhone 5 is Apples last iPhone because it's good enough, and there's no need to constantly improve on it.
