Touch ID is superior to Face ID when using Apple Pay

it’s definitely convenient in the sense of when you bring your phone out of your pocket, you technically already have your thumb on the fingerprint reader next to the terminal For a fast transaction Versus having to bring the iPhone up to your face then use it for Apple Pay with Face ID. I don’t know if that makes it ’superior’, I think it makes it a different experience per se.

I use Apple Pay as the only method of paying predominantly buy have never felt like I’m doing anything out of ordinary in terms of bringing the phone specifically in front of my face. Most of the times it’s taking the phone out, looking at it and bringing close to the reader.

Although I have to admit that since getting the Apple Watch, I hardly use the phone to pay for anything.

Having both iPhone models, I prefer touch ID, simply just because I can have the phone near the terminal directly out of my pocket, but they both accomplish the same tasks, it’s just a matter of what you’re adjusted to.

But excellent point about the Apple Watch, as it’s so popular now, I feel that it really eliminates using your iPhone almost as a secondary device, where the Apple Watch is the primary for Apple Pay.

It’s amazing how people in both camps can’t accept that both Face ID and Touch ID have their flaws and don’t work in certain situations which is exactly why we should have both. I personally think Touch ID is better but both would truly be a great experience.

Back to topic: I like Touch ID because it has a haptic feel to it. No need for angle-adjusting or anything, my thumb just feels it. Would Touch ID be under the screen - and if it were to be implemented like in Android phones today - you would have to look at it because you won't hit the exact point on the display blindly. If Touch ID were implemented in the whole lower third of the display for instance, that would be nice. But as it is, I like both "mechanic" Touch ID and Face ID as is.

Must be located in China then.
It’s reportedly ‘over’ I. New Zealand.

You can use bixby to unlock your phone with a voice command. Provided it can recognise your voice specifically that would be a good option.

Yes that and getting new apps are the two places I don't like FaceID. It's not FaceId per se. It's the clunky double tap. Wish they could find an easier way to prompt for FaceID in those scenarios.
