For us that require 16GB or more memory wait for early 2021 Macs coming out between January and before WWDC 2021 in June as these models will be refreshed with a chip superior to the M1.
  • iMac 21.5" and 27"
  • Macbook Pro four TB4/USB4 port 13" and 16"
  • Mac mini four TB4/USB4 port
iMac Pro and/or Mac Pro will probably debut during WWDC 2021.

Yes, at WWDC 2005 and WWDC 2020 it was mentioned that both transitions will take 2 years to complete.

Last time Apple was able to shorten it to less than 7 months. Find "210 days".

These future Macs will address these concerns
  • Up to 16GB only
  • Two TB4/USB4 only
  • No 10Gb Ethernet
  • No eGPU
WWDC 2021 would be the opportune time to refresh the iMac Pro and Mac Pro.
Already have 10gb ethernet on m1.

egpu never going to happen. you will use the apple gpu.

Except, they said 2 years, and meant 2 years.

This is not the Apple from early 2000's that was capable of under promise, over deliver.

Apple can barely keep up with what they promise.
That is a little unfair. Considering the challenges of the pandemic Apple has done very well.

Also, transitioning from PowerPC to Intel was much easier. OS-X always ran on Intel because it is based on the Next OS which was already multi-platform and had run on Intel for years. More importantly, Apple was using CPUs Intel had already designed for Windows PCs and Intel Macs could use mostly standard PC components.

Yawn. Apple has more resources than any entity in the world. Their only problem is management.

More Management System than management, since they are a Functional Organization as opposed to a Divisional Organization.

Though for a company like Apple, I believe FO works better than DO.

Learn kindness. Your interpersonal relationships in real life may improve,

That's about as kind as I can get when you spent a lot of time on this forum duping people into believing you knew something you didn't.

Next time don't push false information around as if you are an authority in it then people will respond in kindness.

That's okay. You have no excuse for spending a lot of time on this forum as a self-proclaimed authority telling members when Apple products will definitely be released. And you have been proved wrong time and time again.

So, when you are taken to task for what you have done -- and clearly you should be --- the only response you can provide is an attack on others. Very sad.

Perhaps this will be a learning experience for you. Unless you work for Apple and want to risk your job by leaking product release information, I would not present myself as an authority figure on this forum providing product release dates to members as if you have that information in front of you.

My last post was 6 months ago. Is your life that interesting that you had to set a reminder to troll me?

It was just important for me to prove someone like you wrong -- who I knew was wrong -- after your behavior six months ago while trying to be an authority on Apple product release dates. You just don't do that here if you truly have no knowledge. That is called trolling!

Thanks @NJRonbo for reminding us that this arrogant clown was wrong.

Yup!

Members here should know.

...and there was another post he made somewhere telling me that the Mac Mini Pro models would be out this past February. This was all the while I was deciding whether to buy the M1 non-pro version.

This is a rumors forum. That I understand. However, at the end of last year, there were a lot of members who had no idea whether to buy into the first silicone products or wait until second-generation models were introduced.

Hexley, at the time, took advantage of that confusion and in the most arrogant manner, set himself up as an authority of not only knowing when the next-generation products would be introduced but what their specs would be.

In doing so, it created confusion as to how credible the news was and as a result, some of us took that information as being accurate. Turns out, it wasn't and when you look back on the manner in which that information was presented, it makes Hexley look like a troll.

I wish there were guidelines created here that no one should be coming on this forum and misleading others with these kinds of false statements. If you post information like that and don't have a credible source to back it up then you should preface your statement as being a rumor. If you have credible information but you can't disclose it, then indicate it as such. Neither was done in this case and for weeks Hexley represented himself as an authority on information and misled many members here as a result.

And now, when he is faced with fingers pointing at him for the inaccurate information he was constantly posting, the only thing he can do in response is make personal attacks. No apology. No remorse. No explanation. Just attack those who are now holding him accountable.

I hope you do not stroke out. And please, don't credit me for causing a movement. I'm not Steve Jobs.

If you prepared a plant-based meal from scratch and exercise rather than going after me for something written based on the best available information at the time then maybe you'll have a happier life.

Is your time that worthless?

Did my opinion cause people to buy a product that they did not want to buy in the first place? I only pointed out a possible timeline for better models to come out. I only advocated delaying purchase if they want to spend more for a better model.

If you cannot handle rumors... then this aint the website for you.

Jeeze louise... how old are you people?

Those are not personal attacks. I am pointing your interpersonal skill deficiencies. You appear to not be able to socialize with others too well.

Do you suffer from low self-esteem? A symptom of which is you need to be right all the time?

I hope your manner of speech does not translate into real life. You'll get bullied in school.

Again, seek help for your mental health. Depression aint a joke!

Your continued level of arrogance and condescending remarks are very troubling. If there is any indication of low self-esteem or depression it is very evident in the manner you carried yourself on this forum THEN and NOW.

It is also interesting to see you introduced a new word into your online vocabulary. That word is “opinion,” which you never interjected into any one of your posts where you claimed to be “100% certain” your information was correct.

Sorry to keep repeating, but this part seems to keep evading you: You posted upcoming hardware release dates stating you were 100% certain they were accurate. Never did the word "opinion" or "rumor" appear in any of your posts. When people challenged you on the information you were posting, you continued affirming the information you were posting was accurate.

You never “suggested” product release dates, you posted with 100% certainty. One of your many posts was quoted above and it's quite evident what you were doing and "suggesting" was not part of it.

Did it result in any damage? Well, I for one bought into the authoritative remarks you were posting without indicating it was an“opinion” and as a result held off buying a product you were promising an immediate refresh of.

I would have hoped this would be a learning experience for you but instead, you obviously find yourself backed in a corner having to relive the "bull" you were posting for weeks here. And since you don’t have the ability to recognize what you did and apologize, your only recourse is to put others down and accuse them of being childish and mentally ill. Quite frankly, only a child would "get off" on the kind of posts you were making, and then when called to task for all of it being wrong, turn around and act in a condescending manner towards others.

If you don’t have the ability to accept responsibility for the kind of posts you were making then it’s quite obvious who has personal issues they need to sort out.

NJRonbo is not the main problem here. He/she is just calling you out for wilfully spreading misinformation. I am told there are words in the English language for people who deliberately deceive, but one thing is sure - the social contract works both ways. Once you've broken it, you have little support for the position that you can demand that others should be required to unilaterally uphold their end of it towards you.
