Why would they release a fix for a beta and not 15.0.1 for the wider user base? Surely there are more users on the official release software than a beta?
It might be possible they wanted to test it out to make sure it fixes the issue and release a public version soon depending on how many affected users

ANOTHER ISSUE.... I just noticed that my MacBook Pro will no longer with AppleWatch..... when I go to turn it on in Mac OS it displays the same message that it can not communicate with Apple Watch. I believe I read that fix is coming in 15.1.

This appears to have been fixed for me in iOS 15.1 Beta 2. After the update installed today, I can successfully add my Watch to “Unlock with Apple Watch“. It was not working previously and I did not need to reset my phone. Hopefully this fix rolls out to everyone soon!

Works with my normal iPhone 13 perfectly (setup as new first then went back and setup again to transfer the 12 settings etc to the 13 with device to device transfer; typically solves most issues from what I learned in past) and I’m on the current iOS 15 and not beta.

I know this is an age-old question, but how did you guys install the update? OTA or via Mac?

I usually update by connecting to my Mac because it is full software versus just the patch update, but I'm wondering because iOS 15 is newer software than macOS 11.6.

I managed to brute force it to work before the patch, but enabling unlock on Mac was met with the same unable to communicate with watch.
was looking forward to getting unlock Mac back today, sadly this wasn't the case.

Never mind! I see that there is an update available for macOS stating "Devise support update" specifically mentioning iOS and iPadOS...

I take it you also restarted the iphone and watch?
You could also try turning off BT on both devices and re enabl.
Update: yea for sure I rebooted both but still nothing. It finally started to work after I had the watch charged up to go to bed. :🤷:

Just updated to 15.0.2 and "Unlock with Apple Watch" is still not working on my 13 Pro...Have tried unpairing, repairing etc. Hopefully this gets fixed in 15.1...

This is still broken for me after updating to 15.1 and 8.1. Very disappointing. Anyone else?
