Anyone wants a copy get ahold of me
Okay, I seriously need help guys!
I have a bunch of map files in the format of map.unr.uz
I can't use them unless I decompress them and rid the .uz extension. How can I decompress on a Mac? It's driving me nuts!
I started playing Unreal Tournament on PC competitively in 2002.
But now I want to play again, but right now I have a mac. I have already installed the game and I've given a few shots.
Did you pick up the Mac version or the Windows? If Windows, you can install it using Wine. If you have the Mac version, you'll need either an older Mac that can boot Mac OS 9 or an emulator that can run Mac OS 8 or 9 (SheepShaver) and then install the Mac OS X beta patch.Hi, I'm a newb.....and I just picked up the GOTY edition and wanna play on my new iMac. It's running the MAC OS X.... I believe.
What the best option, route, advice, etc...? Who's currently playing and how? What can I expect? I noticed some complaints regarding "lack of music" but this doesn't matter to me one bit.....I just wanna play!
I did a search but I'm not the most computer savvy and don't know what to make of it all. Patches, downloads, extensions, etc.... I'm confused.
Can someone please help?
Thanks in advance,

I think VLC plays module music too. Maybe that would convert better? But yea the tools are there to play the music in OSX. Maybe whoever did the OSX port should get in touch with the CocoModX guy? I emailed some praise to him a while back and he replied so he does exist!
The PC version does (playing Razor-ub.umx right now).
Hey, everyone. Just wanted to let you in on the video I mentioned earlier:

I am also developing a website for this project and mainly the improvement of Unreal Tournament. You can still check it out, and even sign up:

It's good to see someone taking action on UT for Mac.
There is a lot of information out there, in a lot of different places. What I think would be very useful for your site is a current status summary (what is supported, on which platforms), and walk-throughs for getting UT running on a Mac.
You would have to have the source code of Unreal Tournament, or you could reverse-engineer it. As for Carbon, it's still supported on 32-bit Intel applications; it's 64-bit applications that can't use Carbon GUI elements. Just because something is using the Carbon codebase doesn't mean that it won't build for Intel; It just means it will take some work porting it over to Intel Carbon. Especially if it's a CFM app (which is what Unreal Tournament X beta 3 is).
Got Unreal Tournament running natively in Intel OS X with some help!

That's not natively, that's just the Windows version running through a Cider wrapper. I've had UT running like this for over a year...
Thanks for the link though, I just realised he also mentioned Unreal Gold, which would be awesome to have on OS X, even if it is just Ciderised. As far as UT:GOTY goes, the Cider version I have is working flawlessly.....WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY ANYTHING??? LOLbut anyways, I got it working just like the original UT, and it is set up as if the original UT was made for the Mac despite the cider, and this copy is like no other.
