I was asked for the receipt. I bought the computer last night from an Apple retail store and had'em email me the receipt.

Converted to JPG and attached it to the *up to date program*, got a claim number and now waiting... It's been over 2 hrs and no news yet!

I submitted around 9 AM EST and got the password email within 5 minutes but the actual code email never came...not in spam,....

I'm the opposite of you; I got the code email but I'm missing the password email.

Yeah I think that's possible but currently I am too lazy to go down to the Apple Store haha but the good thing it has open all day all time so I may try later Apple 5th Avenue Store

I spose u could say the delay (looooong delay) could be due to maybe manual check, but even that would probably be going to the extreme.

Since i only just did mine not long ago, this 7 or so hour could be a bad indication for me then.... oh well... just hope i get it..

Does anyone know if this free copy will work with multiple Macs? I have an old MBP and a Mac Mini that I would like to install Mountain Lion on as well.

If the free upgrade is only good for my new MBA then I'll just buy the update since I'm going to update multiple computers anyway.

I'd also like to know this, if it's only for my new MacBook pro, then I could update other mac while waiting for my free upgrade

Yep... Just a guess but thats probably what the Redeem in the App Store is for.

Since its from the App Store, it will work on all Macs.

My only guess, is its the same as buying it....... except its free with the code
