On AUP for 5 years now. I have never felt like a VIP or privilege. Gold and Platinum Amex here too. I still don’t feel vip or privilege with these cards in my wallet. Overall it’s a great program for those yearly upgraders like me. That’s all. At work I’m vip and privileged. Why? Cuz I’m the BOSS!

Lol! Same… Amex plat and gold, and the perks suck nowadays…. Membership doesn’t have as much of its privilege compared to before…

I was tempted to try and pay off my mortgage using the platinum to see if I could get an invite for the black card… lol!! Just to feel “special “ again.

I feel everybody has one inside their wallets nowadays. Have you seen their airport lounges? The Miami Amex lounge is always packed. I do get tons of points because of work/groceries/restaurants. I travel a lot with my kids throughout the year with points. A lot of money saved. Just now as I type this im at a Disney resort for the weekend. Came to magic kingdom to celebrate my youngest birthday. We drive back to Miami tomorrow. Park tickets/hotel stay paid with Amex points via undercover tourist website.

YES! I haven’t traveled as much since the start of covid, but my wife was complaining of lounge access after her last business trip… it’s insane! Not sure if the Centurion lounge is as bad…
At this point I guess it’s worth it to go private jet 🤣

Enrollment in the IUP provides no greater financial commitment then paying 100% upfront for the phone, both present an opportunity cost.

I get this desire for “VIP treatment”, but that should come at an additional cost separate from phone price.

Agreed. Maybe an up charge in exchange for first dibs. For me, I just buy cash whenever I feel like I need a new phone, but I would not begrudge those who pay an extra subscription to be first in line
