Also try to found a solution like anyone here..

Surenmunoo did you know if the board have buyed on AliExpress will arrive with all components assembled??and just swapped with internal ssd??

Thanks
The seller sent a video of him packing the SSD and it is fully populated and marked which is 00 and 01. He says to just swap them out and put Studio in DFU mode and update.

I also just checked and it's already shipped and expected day is 3 September which is pretty quick compared to results of delivery I have seen on here.

Got my SSD from Aliexpress yesterday and installed it today. It came in a Mac Mini box which freaked me out a bit when I saw it, but when I opened the box I had the two boards.

Went in easy and so far so good, 8TB of SSD running...

Nice. Did they also send the tools to strip the Studio and the extra screw needed for the 2nd SSD?

Would you mind sharing a ssd speed test result? Thinking about ordering the same ssd.

1.They sent a bunch of tools, but they were pretty crap quality. You could get the job done with them though. I just used my usual precision tool set.

2. No screw for the SSD, I had one from a PC build I did a while ago. It isn't strictly necessary I guess. While I am at it, I should have put on some heatsink type stuff on the second SSD but didn't have any... I may go back and put a copper thing on it...

3. Speed test attached.

I bit concern regarding the quality of the PCB connector ... is it a trick of the picture ?

Hello Harold,
You are absolutely right, and I do agree with you that the situation cannot continue like this for much longer.
We happen to be working on PCBs that have 12 layers with a thickness of 0.8 mm, and even for the best PCB manufacturers (which we cannot find in the US neither in France !), this can sometimes be complicated.

The problem has been resolved by our supplier, but it is absolutely true that we did not anticipate this problem, including its consequences in terms of having to reprogram chips.

I apologize once again for the delay, and I would just like to remind you that the idea for this product came from a request made here. Perhaps I shouldn't have taken the risk ? In any case, I promise that no customer has been or will be disadvantaged.

Hello Gilles,

Do you have any updates regarding the delayed M3 shipments?

Regards

The pic is a bit off, so I don't think it looked like that in real life - looked like every other PCB.

Anyway, it still works!
Sadly, for whatever reason, some apple fans really think that all parts and components used by apple are some kind of ultra unique high quality material that only apple has access to and everything else must be inferior, hence justifying those same people, to buy the most expensive offerings.

At 2:21pm, I got an email from polysoft notifying me that the M2 8TB is back in stock. I hit the link at 3:36pm, and the product page said the product is sold out.

Did anyone else get the back in stock alert? Were you able to place an order? Maybe I just wasn't fast enough...

Looks like everything is everything is showing out of stock. If I'm a guessing man, the volume that was received to trigger that email was so low that if a couple of people bought it, they would have exhausted the supply

This post back in July had one member incur the exact same situation, and further on in this thread he opted for an Ali Express storage upgrade. I think it @Surenmunoo may be able to detail his experience with the product. At this point Ali Express may be your only viable option - if you want to upgrade internal storage. This may sound like trolling or heresy but there's always external drives as well.

I didn’t even get an email in the first place. @gilles_polysoft I gotta be honest, I’d much rather order from you and support a business in the EU than ordering from AliExpress.

Is there a chance orders will reopen at some point or do you just keep them closed now? Would be great to get at least some information so I know what the options are.

With external TB5 drives being as fast as they are, I ended up opting for these instead. Many will find them faster then internal drives in the first instance. When editing etc I notice no issues at all - you forget you are even working from an external drive at all!

I also have a 4-slot TB4 Acasis external SSD enclosure, which I'm using to run my main OS and handle video editing — the internal Mac SSD isn’t even in use. I’d still much prefer having everything inside the machine, but yeah, it’s running very well without any trouble so far.

I ordered mine from AliExpress on the 22 August and it arrived in New Zealand on the 28 August but stuck at customs. So I have not tested it as yet.
