Apple will not update their shipping info until the phone has had it's import scan in Louisville, KY and then, you will see that the phone has "shipped". For latest info, check out the UPS app.
Was wondering about this. In the UPS app, my phone arrived in Louisville very early Tuesday morning (9/21 at 3:22 a.m. EST) 24 hours later, the Apple Store app still shows as “Preparing to Ship.” I guess it just takes some time to catch up.

Mine is still showing preparing to ship. Nothing on UPS app. Used my phone number on their site as a reference number and there’s a delivery but the tracking number is covered by ***. My husband has complete UPS information on his App. I definitely don’t.

I'm in the same boat and kinda of unhappy not being able to track phone without the tracking number

It’s sus that the 4:50 crew got so many scans in such a short frame of time. Especially with all those timezone issues 🤔Could it be that we made it onto that UPS99 flight to Louisville?

What went down on Tuesday, 09/21/2021...

Congratulations to all 04:50 and some of 06:05 crew leaving China

Another night has passed. It was an exciting day for all of you but a very stressful day for me. Desperation really kicked in and some of you witness it in earlier posts. I promised most of you in here. Everyone would get a departure scan today and it looks like the vast majority of you did. I'm very happy and pleased to announce the infamous 04:50 and most of the 06:05 crew is finally out of Mainland China. Congratulations to all who have made it and are on their way to Lousiville, Kentucky. Most of you will be reuniting in Lousiville, KY tomorrow. I hope you guys will get together and party hard until you see the "Import Scan" on Thursday.

Since pre-ordering time, I told all of you I will not leave until everyone takes off from China. I am going to be the last one to leave I repeated myself over and over... Well, that is exactly what happened this evening. Yes, it was hard to witness and hard to say goodbyes to the 04:50 and majority of the 06:50 crew as they had lift-off up in the air. But I was very happy for every single one of you.

As for me... I'm still in China. There are small members of the 06:05 crew that are still hanging out with me. I don't think there is any 04:50 crew left in China. There are less than 72 hours left before our iPhone arrives safely. Since we are the last crew. We should be expecting connecting flights back to back. I’m expecting business class seats! Also, It is definitely going to be an awesome experience because I know I will be reuniting with you all in Kentucky and will be waiting for you to post "Import Scan". I hope I will see you all tomorrow in Louisville, Kentucky.

Special thanks to our Captain @FlightLevel310 for sharing his aviation knowledge and @Wolfs for providing information about the departing flights today. Your endless work is appreciated! Thank you for all you do.

Have a wonderful night. See you wonderful people tomorrow. Pray for me and for the small crew that is hanging out with me to get out of China once and for all... May the force be with us tomorrow!

Some software engineer somewhere is hating time zones right now. Been there, friend. No hard feelings. Who invented timezones anyway? One timezone to rule them all; UTC ftw 🙌
Timezones are not that bad but daylight saving time is pure evil.

So you do have a tracking number… the apple store app will say preparing to ship until there is an import scan from Louisville. Ask you husband to add you as a household member to his ups my choice account. If not make your own and tracking should pop up

You will likely not get your import scan until Thursday morning sometime. Once that happens, you should get the shipped notification from Apple.

You clearly know how the whole tacking thing is supposed to work so I won’t even try to repeat those steps but feeling you on the frustration. Fingers crossed it shows up tomorrow in UPS and you get to follow the final few days. Your phone may be stateside already 🤞

I just wanted everyone to get out of China tonight. But, progress was made and the majority of the people got out. So, I'm happy for them. Since this whole pre-ordering started I kept saying every day "I will be the last one to leave China". Today, it became a reality. It was very sour but it's all good. Everyone else got out ;)

Expect me to be the last one to get on-board and depart from China ;)
I wouldn't worry too much about it. At finishing school one of the things we were taught was guests come first. Hosts last. So all good.

Mine still says "Preparing to Ship", seems like a bad sign considering how many people in this thread already have tracking info...
As mentioned before by others Apple doesn’t show tracking info UNTIL it hits Kentucky UPS dist. hub where import scan is done then you will get updated info from Apple. To see tracking info you must search by package reference or use village drapes to get more info.

Well said, You people are all my guests. I'm not worried. I will be the last one to leave :) Thank you!

As a host, I expected to leave last. :)

Never ordered from apple before…only the carrier. Should I assume since I chose “connect to phone”. My sim will be for Verizon and ready to go when I turn it on?

Finishing school. Now that implies you are either British or cleverly humorous. Or could you, perhaps, be both? 🧐 and please forgive the newb if that’s obvious, but I’m far too lazy to read through a ~365 page post

Yea I signed up for the ups account and I just get the last four digits of the tracking with a bunch of x’s in front. I didn’t put in anything for the shipper account since I don’t know what that is.

Could this be the flight that 4:50 crew are taking to Louisville? https://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS2997

On paper the times don’t align exactly, but there has been weirdness with the timestamps for arrival/departure scans. It’s not outside the realm of possibility that our phones are on this flight.
