Same here took me 5 minutes to get into one of the store apps (had iPad, iphone and MacBook Safari going — phone beat other two by a few minutes). Then because you have to enter card info again (found out that is because at this point you can choose different card than what you entered on preapproval according to Apple person I am working with on this issue) i went from 9/24 showing to 10/6 to 10/11. Probably did not help that they seem to have made more Sierra Blue than the graphite 1TB ProMax I orders LOL. Well thats only two weeks but I wish I were playing with the new toy on Friday. I was even part of the 9:20 group last year with my 12 ProMax LOL
UPS doesn't usually do customs in Alaska, they do that in Kentucky.
Please read post #1 of this thread, it will explain a lot. Your status on the apple app won't change to shipped until your phone clears customs in Louisville. However, you should be able to track it using the free UPS MyChoice service on the UPS website or app...on the website, use track by reference and enter your phone number. Tracking should pop up.
no that theory is NOT debunked. Only after the import scan tomorrow it will change to ship
If you're referring to your order on the Apple site/app, it's going to continue to say "Preparing to ship" until it receives it's "import scan" in Louisville, KY, THEN it moves to "shipped". There are many posts on here on how you can find your tracking on UPS.com or other sites.
I was soooooo happy to wake up to a scan showing that I had departed China....and now I have a new scan arriving in KR. What a relief, despair was setting in for sure! Just like last year, we are the last few brave should running for the departure gate in China!
Nope. Custom is cleared in SDF as that is the main UPS HUB.
I wish they would do this for me. I've had three iPhones shipped to me over the years and I've never had to sign for them. I've purchased two through T-Mobile and one through Apple in the past. I guess it depends on where you live?
Oh, when the iPhone X was released, T-Mobile shipped them in their own little hot pink boxes with T-Mobile logo, so everyone in the world knew it was an iPhone. 🤣
I remember last year, my first pre-order with Apple (I used to use AT&T) and I was very very nervious about clearing customs... cause it was happening the same Friday!!
What does really happen with this proccess? It there is an incomplete address, will return to China?
No, Alaska is just a refueling spot, customs clearance happens at Worldport in Louisville.
I'm telling you, you'll be released before me!! I'm in SoCal, and arrived this morning in Louisville, for Customs you will leave first. I'll be buried! LOL
I'm curious. Is there any plane that already departed Kentucky or that won’t happen until tomorrow? I'm just curious... my phone is already on Kentucky... for the first time is early there. I remember last time it was clearing custom and arriving to Kentucky the same Friday!! And I live in Puerto Rico, so had to travel out of USA.

Could also depend on your UPS/Fedex settings. I've got mine set to always pre-sign with Shipment Release Authorization, but I also always jump at my office window when any vehicle goes by on iPhone delivery day, so...
When are the next flights to Puerto Rico out of KY today and tomorrow ,it will clear customs before that and get on the plane
A note to some who buy screen protectors: If you take good care of your phone you may not need one. I have been using my iPhone 11 (with an OtterBox Defender case) for two years now without one, and so far, I haven't had a visible scratch. My Apple watch is a different story as I have a minor nick at the top and I have had the watch for a year. 😄
UPS planes leave all the time. The phones won't be on them until tomorrow.
