i am sorry if this has been brought to the thread, but I have ordered an iPhone and the delivery date is Friday the 24th, and on Apples order page it says preparing to ship. Is this normal?

Have you tried checking the reference tracking using the Order Number with the last digit removed and the destination zip? That has been a pretty reliable method.
Ah, I see your point. I should have said, "Only then will I be able to fully relax with fitful tossing and turning until dawn."
Yep this is normal, but there are ways to get the tracking info if you would like (I can help if you DM me). Apple won't update tracking until the order has cleared customs in Kentucky. That is where many of us are right now.
Well now that the group who got first day orders successfully made its almost time for those of us who got in within 5-10 minutes (or later) and found the dates slipped past 9/24 by time order was completed. I got in 5 past after having store open and refreshing on iPad, iPhone and MacBook (on phone first) and order done 1 minute later after reinterring the card info they always make you do on the preapproval orders done before preorder day. And date for me was slipped to 10/6 to 10/11 for delivery this makes about 2/3’s the times I have missed opening days since on iUP.
Anyway have not seen date move up, even after writing Tim Cook about the issues (no not as bad as the Apple Card issues ) and having one of the executive folks call me and work on issues (no move up of date) So that means for now unless there is a date change this weekend after opening day I /we are on the 10/6 to 10/11 crew although I saw some claiming a shift to a 10/4 to 10/6 date who had a 9/24 for several days.
So after folks report final legs of the opening day shipment flights (a fun exercise I did several years with you all) we will be next group to be watching our shipments and/or flights for that next batch. I am guessing sometime after 9/24 to next week we will start to see info on our phones from these later slipped preorder day orders.

Yes, YES! I ran to Costco to make sure I have enough gas in the car to get to the Apple store… even though the Apple store is closer 🤫 … I need to have no delays! Updating to iOS 15 and backing up my phone! I’ll be up and ready Friday!

iPhone Day 2021 is almost HERE!
I’m in the same boat. But I had an issue with the Apple Card and the iUP and originally a date of late October but was bumped to launch day the other day. I’m wondering if they have a bunch of phones for people in my situation that weren’t assigned to us from china but will be tomorrow when the regular tracking emails get sent out. Hopefully that’ll be nice and early to wake up to.
And bad for your wallet, apparently.
On my UPS tracking page It says “ this package requires a signature” and “sign now”. I sign but every time I log back in it says the same thing so it doesn’t seem to work. What’s up with that?

So is my UPS page just lying to me? It says Departed ZhengZhou, CN at 9/22/2021 11:30 am. Arrived in Anchorage at 9/21/2021 11:10 PM, and left Anchorage at 9/22/2021 12:12 am. So, its been on a flight from Anchorage for 18 hours now.
