After 3 years of the XS Max (still a good phone by the way - but the longest I've ever kept a model), I've decided to upgrade. 
Question: Since I won't be home on the 24th for delivery, I'll opt to pickup at the Apple Store. How does pick up work these days - - Do you choose an appointment time when pre-ordering or do they just save your phone and pick up is anytime?

Starlight is a mystery color to me until I see it in person. It will probably have a nice sheen, but I suspect it may look beige to many. In-person color for sure.
That wasn’t the case for me and I was able to request a hold for pick up even before it gets on the truck so YMMV.

well....(darnit) my mouse took over my computer and forced me at mousepoint to pre order a 13 PM Slate 256. my 11 PM midnight green served me well.....

Such a dilemma. Not sure if I want to do an in-store pick up or choose to have it delivered to my house? Knowing that I’ll likely request a hold for pick up at UPS CC.

I was trying to remember if this was the same person that had a winged griffen avatar at one point. I could be wrong though.
Come to think of it, I still haven’t changed my avatar… long after finally getting a blue iPhone Pro… maybe after pre-order tomorrow.
I’m over the silicone cases now. They do feel nice in the hands and you don’t have to worry about getting them wet.
But they chip SO EASILY. Dropped it once on the floor and a small chunk came off. At least with leather, it’s not as obvious and you can sort of rub out the dent.
Going with my normal Silver/White and have ordered the darker blue silicone and the Sequoia green leather so far.
Apple always gives me a new one, since I’m a regular at my local apple store 🤦♂️😂
