The new phones ship with the previous iOS 15 release candidate, but Apple updated the iOS 15 build after shipping the new phones. So, it is still iOS 15, but a different build. I had to update my 13 Pro Max also right out of the box.

Good news! Wait. Bad news! Wait. Confusing news! My iPhone started its journey back to China through UPS, made it from Chicago to Kentucky, and back to Chicago. Maybe they’ll deliver it to me. (For bonus points, they lost the smart folio for my iPad that was also due yesterday, and the replacement ETA is Nov 10)

Apple has some kind of hub there, old refurbished stuff. My replacement Apple Watch 0 came from there last Summer.
definitely don’t see any yellow tint.. no gap near the ear piece. i haven’t tested raised blacks yet.. so far i’m impressed.. i’m not seeing a massive difference between x60 and the intel v2 modem from the 11 PM.. i need further testing.
also, Zagg screen protector for 13 PM was a blessing with how easy and perfectly it installed. definitely worth the $40

Well it will be interesting for the next preorder gang now. The 10/6 - 10/11 gang. Late yesterday (I missed opening day at 5 minutes past preorder opening ) I got a notice my phone was preparing to ship. Went to bed and woke up to information that it shipped and would now arrive Tuesday September 28 (even though apple order on app says Friday October 1 but that was based on earlier start of shipping data which updated on UPS to Tuesday). And on the UPS detailed tracking says to check back tomorrow for updated info because it has left China might be here on Monday the way things are looking but at least a week or sooner from the original start of date range. So there is hope for you of the later 10/6 to 10/11 crowd we are starting to get our phones over a week earlier than the estimated start of date range of 10/6!!!!!

Weirdly, mine didn’t require one. I was inside & my husband was in the garage when UPS pulled up. He just asked our last name, handed him my phone, and left. I think I’ve always had to sign before.

Got mine from AT&T since I’m on FirstNet an can’t order through Apple. For some reason FedEx went out of their way to get it to me. Arrived on launch day at 11:36am to the destination sort facility long after they have loaded the delivery trucks and they still got it to me yesterday.
Yeah. VERY limited configurations available in 13 stores in/around Philly. Shipping is now dropped to late Oct- Nov. 2. Very glad I pre-ordered, I had in my mind briefly last week to skip pre-order, thinking "I'm sure there will be plenty on Sept.24, the weekend...no rush." (I did fear this trade in value would dip though which played a major factor.) Perhaps stock will come in this coming week.
But I would have felt deflated today, I severely underestimated the demand.
Mine was scheduled for delivery 7pm yesterday. Today, Apple store order status shows "out for delivery” but UPS tracking says “check back tomorrow" so who knows when I will get my phone. It’s not so much the delay that bothers me, it’s the lack of valid tracking info. ?

And now it says check back tomorrow for updated date. Looking at tracking info and that it left the city (probably flying now) it could shift to Monday.
Any tips to keep the battery healthy? 🔋 i was unable to fully charge it yesterday because I had to leave the house. I’m waiting for it to get to 10%. It is currently 14%. I’ve been using the phone since 11am CST
Best I can give you is if you’re charging overnight just do it with a 5W charging brick. No need to heat up the battery while you’re sleeping.
I set up a shortcut to play a sound when charging reaches 80% so I can unplug. I’ll occasionally charge to 100% when I need to be out all day. Otherwise, I try to keep it between 20-80% (where lithium ion batteries are stressed the least). It’s the same advice that’s coming from maintaining electric vehicles too.
