Really? It ships from Ireland and I had no problem ordering one. We're still in the EU for a while yet.
In my country I just see an UNAVAILABLE button at the top right... What is the price for this for you?

It was £32.99 with free delivery. In my country I just see an UNAVAILABLE button at the top right... What is the price for this for you?

I just checked, and it is still available for £32.99 including delivery. It was? So now it is not? Maybe this is out of stock? Or can you check the link, is it still showing as buying option for you? I guess with delivery I might land at the same price! I will check with my contacts in UK if they can buy and send it to me
Curious about this as well. It seems hard to find actual USB-C to DP cables
Amazon UK will have stock on Monday. Startech version of the cable. Prices will stay high until enough quantity is available.Google makes that cable, i will use that one when i get a DP screen

I have that cable, and it works perfectly on a 4K Samsung monitor.https://www.aliexpress.com/item/CY-...32371304941.html?spm=2114.13010308.0.0.CQRAM7
This is China thing, but seems good quality to me, also the reviews seems to be confirmed working with regular Macbook.
This is actually affordable for me too, but the delivery time within that $1 is about 30 days to my country. I hope I finds something else within 2 weeks. I have seen options here are available but of course still expensive.I have that cable, and it works perfectly on a 4K Samsung monitor.
I actually bought two cables (at AliExpress and DX) to test them both. They're the same. To be honest, I find that cable a bit... ugly It's very well made but I'm picky about my cables However it's simply just very good quality for its price. Where I live (Netherlands), even online shops will charge double that DX price without batting an eyelid.
Well, I've got the Samsung U28E590D: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YD3DBOC@cerberusss were you able to use ports on the monitor with the cable you have?

This is basically a very, very bare-bones 4K monitor and it doesn't have any ports besides 2xHDMI, 1xDisplayPort and 1x 3.5mm audio jack. I've been able to use the audio jack, yes. But even if your monitor has USB ports, you would need a separate cable for that because that USB-C-to-DisplayPort cable doesn't carry any other protocols.
Do you mean seberate USB-A to USB-C from the monitor to MBP, right?
I've no idea! I still have not tested it with any external monitors. Still can't find cables in my countryAre HDMI cables actually working now, so we don't need to use adapters? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LYS3Q5A/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1NCVKF8LXGAA9

That cable uses the DP alt mode of USB-C, so I think it still has to have an an adapter built in to convert the DP to HDMI. Hence the huge bulky HDMI "connector" on the end. It looks like they just relocated the adapter from the middle of the cable to the end.
I have yet to see an actual HDMI alt mode cable in the wild. I believe HDMI licensing has a press event planned for CES next month to show off some of the first commercial solutions available.
Ya, I read their description as well. But the description also states that it uses Displayport Alt mode, which needs to be converted to HDMI. The bulky end to the cable is the same size as the adapters on other cables, so I'm guessing that their "not an adapter" claim is more marketing than technical. It says in the description that this is a CABLE, not an ADAPTER:
"No Adapter, No Converter
CHOETECH USB C to HDMI Cable lets you use the USB Type-C port on your computer to directly deliver visuals on your HDMI-equipped monitor without the need for cumbersome protocol and connector adapters or dongles."
In fact, it's the only one I've seen that doesn't have the bulky box for the electronics. The reviews also look positive for use with the MBP.
