I like both but a change isn’t iPhone to iPhone. Or android to android. It’s one to the other then back again.

I disagree. There's a good variety of change going from Android to Android. Hardware and the manufacturer software UI can make for a good contrast of user experience.

Maybe. But my wife has Samsung and I have a Huawei. I have had a slew of android devices. Like Apple it’s minimal changes over the years. They are all quite similar.

Are there any nerds like me that use both an iPhone and Android on a daily basis? I’m talking for personal use. Not a personal line and business line. I have both an iPhone X and a Pixel 2XL. I’m using T-Mobile Digits so my phone number works on both phones. Through out the day I am switching back and forth between the two. I love it!

I recently switched from a Samsung s8 to the IPhone X and loved it. But I missed certain things about the Android platform so when the Samsung S10 came out it started tugging on my heartstrings! So today I got the S10 and am loving it. Still undecided if I want to sell my IPhone X or just keep it and try the 2 phone swap thing.

I registered with Bell (in Canada) when I got the IPhone and the deal was get a second line for $10 with 3 GB data included (but really my Data is just shared between my two sims, so 10GB data total). The sim has just been sitting in the low end “free” tablet that hasn’t been turned on since I bought the phone in November. Just thinking if I should fire that sim up in the Samsung or just swap my main sim that I use now. Definitely don’t want to carry two phones at once but having one at home for when I get the itch to swap from android to IOS or vice versa could stop me from always selling and buying. The life of a techie .

Nope. I don't want to carry two around and don't see the point. One big phone in my pocket is plenty. Don't want to pay on two phones and really, it just seems weird lol.
I am a settler. I pick a device I want and just use that device. Same with TV shows. I don't keep switching around between shows. Drives me nuts when my Wife does that. Right as I'm getting into a show, she changes it.
Plus I'm not real big on iOS. Just isn't as good as Android IMO.

I use Android and iOS daily.

Android: Huawei Mate 20 Pro (soon to change )
iOS: Apple iPad Air 2 (still looking)

I find it hard to carry 2 phones, so I keep myself up to date with iOS with the iPad, I am considering the new iPads, but I am still not quite convinced they offer enough over my current one, which I mainly use for Streaming shows in bed.

My Huawei Mate 20 Pro is just so much more capable that I barely use the iPad for much other than Streaming and every and then browsing e.g. For flights to do comparisons or viewing documents on a larger display.

When I was 13, my mom could only afford a budget Android on installment and it was OS 2.0 and then she kept buying me androids and then a Windows phone when I was 16. I used to hate Apple because I knew how overpriced and limited they were, but I secretly wished for an iPhone to find out if iOS is really as all that idiotic as I was convinced all my life and bought a visibly used iP 4S with a cracked back and iCloud lock just out of sheer curiosity and the longer I used it and the more I could find out about its perks, I decided to use both ecosystems daily at once, you know, Android for its big touchscreen, personalization options, games and such and 4S for music, iMessage and more useful stuff I can't name right now. I'm getting an iP SE because my 4S frustrates me with its 3G connection and impossibility to update iOS to 10 or higher.

How did you get it off iCloud lock?

My real problem is the amount of tv shows and movies I’ve bought from iOS. I’ve no way to watch them on an android phone. We don’t have anything like movies everywhere in the UK.

Sounds like if people keep an open mind, both OS’s can coexist. Too bad so many hide behind the ”eco system” excuse.

It can work but many do not want to run with two phones and some partners don’t like the thought of those with two phones for obvious reasons lol….i think you go with what works together and from an OCD point of view things need to sync perfectly and work well together and apple are the ones who do this perfectly. Samsung are certainly trying to build an ecosystem and are processing well but for me the performance of their tablets just can’t match the ipad’s smoothness. Same with smart watch game it’s just hard to match the apple watch for what both do.

I have the tab S4 which does a decent job for what my family uses it

Yeah I cant have 2 phones. I've tried that 3 years running and it doesn't work for me. One ends up in the drawer and one gets used all the time.

I use two different SIMs for two different phones. One is running on Android while the other is iOS. It's great, both the phones get me through the day and I get to experience both the platforms.

The inability to easily switch/sync WhatsApp between iPhone and Android prevents me from doing this

Not sure we have to phrase it as if sticking to one platform would be morally reprehensible and the world would be a better place if everyone used both. Many are happy with the advantages of having all their gear on one platform and are not prepared to make the extra effort to combine both. Because regardless how smoothly the end result does work, setting up a cross-platform system is going to require an extra effort.

Same here. It's really irritating. I'm still using both, but my Android is more of a cheap OLED mini tablet for media consumption while traveling than an actual phone. These days I hardly ever put a sim in it. If WhatsApp worked on both I would be switching daily driver a lot depending on the situation.

I was thinking more about Apple iOS users and Android users being able to interact. I think we should focus on more cross platform ability not which OS is superior.

It depends on what "eco system" you're talking about. If you use Google services having an Android and iOS device working well together is easy. If you are a person who uses only Apple services then it's much harder to keep everything synced.

Personally I use an Android device and an iPad pro daily. I use all Google services and using both is pretty seamless. But yeah, if you use Apple services then you're pretty much stuck going all Apple and they know that. There's a reason why they don't release their apps and services for use on Android devices.

I feel having a backup phone can be handy, and extra line $20/mo Very happy with S10+ while two year old iPhone X backup.

The way the S10's have brought the weight down - don't want 208gm monster.

There are things I can do on Android but not iOS.
Still have Mac and Surface laptops and a rarely used iPad Mini 5.

I tried sim swapping and it just wasn’t feasible. Thankfully, my second line only costs $17/mo so I have it in my Pixel 3 XL while my main line lives in an iPhone (most family, friends and coworkers use iPhones so see greater benefits interacting with them via Apple gear).

I have kind of been doing this. Bought a Pixel 3 XL a couple months ago after being on iOS for the last couple years and really liked it and decided I did in fact want to go back so was going to sell my iPhone...however everytime I go to list it for sale I just can't and sometimes end up switching back to it for a little while. At this point I still plan on getting rid of the iPhone (XS Max) but I dunno might not.

In the meantime it's fun switching back and forth, I bet I'm really confusing my iMessage friends with my bubble color changing all the time ;)

Could always rip the movies and put onto the SD card. When i switched to the S10 when it was released i ripped my library and threw it on my 512sd card. I’m back on Apple now ... but I am debating getting the note. I love both so much. I just wish Samsung tablets / phones synced together better. Since that’s a huge thing I would miss when I’m laying in bed on my tablet
